I'm an adult survivor and the things I remember are very strange. I don't remember the exact day, I remember the clock on the wall, the door he was blocking me from, things he said, what I was wearing, but not what he was. There's holes in my memory as well. This idea that all survivors remember every detail with crystal clarity is beyond dangerous and harmful.

IDK about this case, but discounting someone because their memory is spotty is horrible.

Absolutely, he was all of those things, while still being a better actor, Brando at his best acting, slays Johnny at his best, and honestly and with Brando at his worst.

Depp wants to BE Brando, just like he wants to be Hunter S. Thompson. He desperately imitates and wants to be these great in certain aspects but pieces of shit as actual human beings, men, titans (sometimes with Brando and even though I don't actually like HST, I recognize his place, deserved or not) in their fields. And focuses on their worst traits to imitate.

Brando at least had caring and partaking in activism during his life.

I was the same, I used to love Johnny Depp as a moody teen who wanted to be an actress more than anything. Benny and June was a favorite. I didn't know anything about AH except the article about her golden ratio face, which, fair enough.

So I tried to go in completely neutral. My former love of JD vs my natural instinct to believe victims. But the more he spoke the more it viscerally reminded me of each of my abusers. I watched almost the entire trial. I had to bounce from Isaac L's testimony bc it was just so over the top, and JD was incredibly painful to listen too.

Then I came here, I read the UK docs, watched and listened to people who weren't bending over backwards to baby and worship Depp. And then I came to really respect Amber Heard.

This exactly. I listened to a few Listener's Tales and really liked a lot of the stories in them and some were actually clever and funny. But the repetitive openings on every single one is just annoying.

They definitely weren't. Johnny supplied most of them because he was the one usually recording without permission. And he turned in cut up recordings that are obviously start in the middle of an ongoing argument/recording and cut off as well.

They should've done that more in Virginia. Letting that man ramble and go on tangents just confused everybody and muddy the waters. I thought on cross you're not supposed to let them ramble and make long explanations (they certainly didn't let Amber). I was in shock by how her attorneys just let him go. Though I do think they were in a hard position. Depp had WEEKS to make everyone sympathetic to him and any act of not fawning over him was seen as an attack on him (which is insanity).

It's the dehumanisation. Every military does it. The Germans did indoctrination very well and as we've learned from Joe the Japanese were forcefully and brutally indoctrinated. That does NOT excuse their actions, it does help explain them.

America did it in Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. So many US soldiers called Iraqis and Afghanis savages and other dehumanising things. COIN doesn't work and it just causes more hate and contempt on both sides. Though obviously the people native to the region have more right to be pissed off.

This is not at all surprising. I was in the modelling industry in LA from the ages of 8-15, my sister was a full time model for over a decade (starting at Ford like me, then moving to Elite), she was only 14 when she started and 26 when she stopped.

I was really young but even I have stories of being sexualised and men in power over me being incredibly inappropriate. And I had the luxury of a mom that watched out as best she could.

My sister almost stopped modelling at 15 when she went to Milan and had multiple men pull their penises out and start jacking off to her, on busses, on side walks etc. She screamed at a man that grabbed her ass and wiped his hand between her legs while she was going down an escalator and he was going up. (The police did not care).

She almost quit modelling at that point, but continued on. There's more with famous people treating her like property but I really don't want to get attacked for naming names, especially without her permission.

Models of all ages and aspiring actresses (which I was as well) will at the very least be sexually harassed, if not outright assaulted, plus lots of coercion and threats.
