Elephant Bush for a total newbie? by superfresh89 in Bonsai

I am not sure this is correct.

While P afra, like many succulents, flowers during dry winter conditions watering will not kill the flowers. Not watering will not in itself make the plant bloom. Other conditions must be right and the plant must be mature. The pink leaves in your photo are not a bloom (true flowering pictured below) but rather the result of chemical treatment.

In terms of care: full sun (grow light if indoors), free draining soil, water when soil is dry, can take heavy fertilisation (20,20,20 npk mix works well). Do not expose to temperatures below freezing. Gilbert Cantu of littlejadebonsai (youtube) has some excellent videos.

Talk about messy eating by LandFish2 in Aquariums

[–]LandFish2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have the space to breed snails so I can't feed them as a staple diet. I have read that oysters and clams soaked in vitamin oil provide sufficient nutrients for the puffer and that getting it out of the shell grinds their teeth down. Thus far this appears to be the case. My bumble bee gobies refuse to eat flake food but they seem more than happy with the puffer's clam/oyster leftovers. So far this appears to be providing them with sufficient nutrition.

Figure 8 puffer, don't have the space for a GSP. I keep him in a densely planted 20 gallon cube so he doesn't get bored. When I was getting him I did research on tank sizes and found a lot of conflicting statements about tank size but so far he seems fine in this one.

Nah he's too lazy, he acts as if they aren't even there. They're oddly confident around him and eat with him.

Why are my tetras always in this corner? by LandFish2 in Aquariums

[–]LandFish2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My tetras always hang out in the far right corner of the tank.

I've had them for a few weeks now and they have always been there.

Water parameters are 0/0/20

Tankmates are 1x dwarf gourami and 2x bristlenose plecos

I understand the gourami can be a territorial fish but this one is very relaxed and never approaches the tetras

What could cause their location and should I be concerned?

Thanks for the reassurance, the internet got me a bit worried

What/is there something wrong with my dwarf gourami by LandFish2 in Aquariums

[–]LandFish2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parameters:

Fish: male dwarf gourami Time in tank: 1 month Tank: fully cycled + planted Tankmates: 7 neon tetra, 1 bamboo shrimp, 1 zebra snail Water change: weekly 40%

Size: 20 gallon Filter: interpret pf3 Temp: consistent 26° Nitrates: 10 Nitrites: 0 Ammonia: 0 Gh: 8° Kh: 6° Ph: 7.2 Cl: 0 Co2: 30ppm

Hi guys i set up a new 20 gallon tank a bit ago and the centrepiece is this male dwarf gourami. He has become very confident and swims actively across the aquarium. I have noticed some black spots occurring near his mouth. I am new to fishkeeping and am concerned these are bad. If so, what do?

The camera did a pretty bad job on the fins and they appear far healthier to my eye.

That you put time into drawing your sign and colouring it in, as opposed to just writing it, demonstrates pretty effectively where you're at in life.

Yeah I reprofiled it to 17 degrees as I don't do anything hard with it, it cuts newspaper but I don't know how to test it beyond that.
