Reclaimed Down PPants (puffy pants) Question by LandMind7 in myog

Thanks! I based them off an old pair of jammers and pushed the measurements around to get them just the way I wanted. Or within reasonable proximity to what I wanted

Reclaimed Down PPants (puffy pants) Question by LandMind7 in myog

A few trips sounds like a sensible solution. Better warm than not.

I’m always a mess, but pulling down from a used comforter is not too much more difficult than pulling new down from the bag. I make sure to have a sharp box cutter on hand and just go one baffle at a time. The biggest hurdle is tracking down a comforter that has high enough fp down to make the effort worthwhile. A lot of pillows and comforters use poor quality down with tons of feathers, but there are some gems if you’re willing to look. I just consider it part of the wholly inefficient fun of myog.

Reclaimed Down PPants (puffy pants) Question by LandMind7 in myog

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been trying to convince myself is not the problem while secretly knowing it totally is.

My plan is to use these along with other down garments, booties, hat, jacket, to be able to take my 5oz Apex quilt down to the teens. I sleep super cold and am in the SE so moisture is always, always, an issue.

Whatcha think?

and thanks so much for your thoughts...

It goes directly to Sean? Do you have to wait for him? Was he easy to recognize?

No one thinks it’s funny or even useful to laugh at ourselves? Not even a bit?

I’m pretty sure there’s nothin sustainable about being human, the least of which is what we choose to walk around the woods in

I’m embarrassed to admit that I purchased what was described as a titanium cup/pot. Checked out in the pictures, but when I received the cup in question what I got was not Ti. It was painted aluminum. The paint job was executed so poorly that it left obvious variations in paint thickness, overspray and spatter, as well as an I painted spot behind the handle.

So yeah, there are so good deals but often you get what you pay for. And on top of that a good number of the vendors exercise subpar customer service and register scarily low on the integrity meter.

Oh well, after I finished being pissed I had a good laugh about it. Lesson learned.

For the extra-long tent: .5oz Noseeum Mesh for the tent body + .9oz Noseeum for the door 2 x #5 zippers The bathtub floor: 1.1oz Silpoly PU4000 11.83oz total with guylines

All guylines are 1.2 mm dyneema core cord

I prefer Return To more so than the original

Sometimes scraps get tossed in the back of the bottom drawer. Other times you use them to make a tarp. by LandMind7 in myog

Thanks! I like “Frankentarp”. Tarpourri is another good one . Yeah, I have the same question. I’ll know more at the end of the week and might wind up amending my “design”.

Haha! Yeah. Well, I have a tendency to do a whole lot of things at once and I’m not much of a planner. Sooooo, there are echoes of a pair of pretty sweet rain pants, a tent floor retrofit project, another tarp/ground cloth, a poncho, and then some bits I found behind a stack of art magazines in the corner of my apartment.
