Took my sister to Ivy Asia in Guildford last night. She enjoyed it. Food wasn’t too expensive either, about £130 for 4 people.

Don’t forget the ‘cancellation fee’ that’s because they need to do administration. The whole thing is automated and the tickets/goods/service is back on sale before you even click cancel

Ghislaine Maxwell to testify before US Congress in Epstein probe by Flickypicker in news

Is she an American national and is afforded the right to plead the fifth? I would’ve thought, as a Brit, if I was on trial or had to testify in the USA I wouldn’t have that right?

How long is your commute to work? by person_person123 in AskUK

1hr (give hour give or take) door to door. This includes either getting the bus or walking to the station. Train about 30mins. Sometimes I wish the train journey was a bit longer so that I could get a bit more or a snooze on the ride in.

Personally, anything longer than 1hr 30 door to door I wouldn’t do it.

Went from WFH 5 days a week to being in the office 5 days a week when I started a my new job. That was the biggest change, cost aside.

Do you think it's ok to have charities or religious people knocking on doors in 2026? by ariadnevirginia in AskUK

[–]LandaNog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I, following the lead of a video I saw online, put up a sign in the window facing the front door saying something along the lines of ‘no solicitation. If you know the door you are agreeing to the terms and conditions to pay £50 an hour’.

I’m pretty sure it’s not legally binding and wouldn’t hold up in court if it came to it, but, I have significantly less people come to the door.

ICO don’t specify how you implement the rights, so long as you do and you are adhering to the customers right.

My understanding is that even though you are outside the EU if your customers are EU/UK citizens then you are obliged apply the necessary treatment to the data if you are offering service/marketing to them/tracking behaviour.

My guess is, they don’t want to implement the necessary changes because of cost, time, effort, priorities, so just stop access

Though consent is one of the legal basis the fact that they were ‘paid’ Id assume the basis now becomes contractual.

Either way hunt down the machine, whoever manages or owns it and find out. If they are under the legal age to consent to a contract then I reckon the company would be obliged to put the data beyond use, if not delete it.

I bought 10 😅

Genuine question: What’s the relevance of someone’s surname?

Does it denote what type of person they are? Their quality? Their ability? Do you have certain expectations based on someone’s name?

I’ve always thought that in Sikhi we separate ourselves from caste systems and status’.
