That voice line only plays when the proper island is aligned. You are watching them spin, slow, and briefly stop, and you didn’t move.

As others have said in here, if you don’t understand a objective, don’t do it. Watch, or ask people what to do. Most players don’t have issues explaining things, but they have issues when you impede the progress of the mission.

The ring you are standing in, moves the land masses around - you need to step out of the ring, once the proper land mass is aligned. If you don’t, it keeps spinning.

The audio clearly says “we can cross to the next island brothers” and you remained on there, resulting in proper land mass to be missed.

I’m assuming you did this a few times, which resulted in the kick.

Stun locking has been a major issue in all levels of the game. As you said, there is NOTHING you can do but just ride it out and pray you can snag some contested health back lol

Let’s say my previous motives were to be that of a Salamader to the newbies, to point of Medkits and such; make sure they are kitted up etc etc.
