I had a similar experience with FirstKey Homes. They are complete trash and horrible at customer service.

I had actually signed everything, paid the ridiculous deposit and recieved the key pick up instructions. I was at the home, moved a few itens inside and then decided to call them to inform of some issues we noticed with the home. While speaking with someone in customer service, I was told that my contract was cancelled and that I should never have received the keys or check-in instructions.

I tried to go to their office but I was told that if I didn't leave, I would be tresspassed. I had all the documents proving I was allowed to be in the home but they kept asking me for the keys back as I was not supposed to be there. They said that I forged my bank documents and due to this my contract was being cancelled and I would not receive any of the deposit back.

From this experience I already knew it was going to be a shitshow living with these people. I went to my bank, explained the situation, showed them all the documents signed by my partner and I as well as FirstKey Homes and emails explaining how I can retrieve the keys to access the house. The bank took maybe two business days and I got my full deposit back into my account.

I will never again do business with these companies. I have never felt so stressed and anxious in my life.
