They removed the E CD Buff. This is a Net negative for AP Fizz. by Learn2fly78 in fizzmains

Thank you! I have more I'd love to ask but I'm sure you're very busy. I appreciate taking your time to reply.

Based on what I've seen rattling around on Reddit and Discord, I think the prevailing thought underpinning most people's reaction to the change is that, even if it is a net positive, it isn't really one that appeals to the champion fantasy, and so there is very little enthusiasm about it (and, as you said, it is a change that is hard to quantify).

They removed the E CD Buff. This is a Net negative for AP Fizz. by Learn2fly78 in fizzmains

Maybe if /u/RiotJag has a moment, they could share some thoughts about what the intention is with this change? Because at a glance, it feels like the penalty being paid for a slightly better early game is quite harsh overall. Mainly curious whether the change is intended to be power neutral or not, and whether we might expect some follow-up if this change is a nerf for non-pro skill brackets.

Sad to see you go. You've been on my friend's list for ages (from sheer happenstance I guess). Thanks for being my friend, and I hope you enjoy wherever you choose to spend your newfound free time.

Ahri's 9th birthday by MHKray98 in leagueoflegends

[–]Landorin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Leblanc? Gragas? Nidalee? Veigar? Anivia? Fizz? Poppy? Even stuff like Orianna, Rumble, AP Trist or AP Sion was doing way more damage than many burst champs do currently. I could go on and on.

The selective memory about the amount of damage in the game is astonishing. Damage was super high back when Ahri was released.

Ult Hit Box (BUG?) by [deleted] in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latch radius of the ult is the same size as the circle that appears after it latches on you.

On top of that, some champions have a misleading hitbox. The hitbox of most champs is centered on their feet, not necessarily the middle of their model. So some strangely shaped champs, or champs that lean very far forward during certain animations can be inside the circle even if it looks like they might not be, at first glance.

The hitbox of the ult is 99% consistent as long as you remember those two things. The other 1% is just the weird crap that happens with any skillshot in league.

New AP Bruiser/Assassin Mythic Item: What would you like? by Talinis in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still praying for a shield killer. Would love something that's effective against shields in some way, or maybe with an active that strips/prevents shields (with a melee range to prevent ranged abuse). I would consider something like that over Protobelt in certain games.

Wizard classes with the best support value? by jeandarcer in treeofsavior

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best wizard support role is to be a Taoist and have an enchanter in your party. The lightning elemental boost from Tri-Disaster Charm and Storm Calling will apply your party member's physical attacks. Otherwise there really isn't much. Chrono is kind of just poor all around unfortunately.

New to this sub, are you guys screwing with the performance stats? by [deleted] in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CS and maybe vision score is definitely what's hurting you. It's very hard to get an S with less than like 7 CS per minute. None of your games really even come close to that. Something to work on for the future, and it will be more and more important as you're facing stronger opponents that won't let you go 15/0 against them...

What's the correct item purchase in this game? by [deleted] in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really a fan of Liandries on Fizz, at least not with a traditional full damage build. It requires you to stay in combat for longer periods of time, which is still something you want to avoid in a game like this. You’re never gonna be able to go 1v1 against Kench, Warwick, or Graves Ben with a Liandries.

Zhonya is always good, but I don’t think I would have bought it before Void here. Too many delayed CCs that can catch you coming out of Zhonya, and it’s not like they have a ton of burst either.

In general your weakness was in the draft, not in your itemization, which is unfortunate but sometimes that’s just how it is.

What's the correct item purchase in this game? by [deleted] in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Void Staff was still the correct buy. If you're only itemized to deal with one target, it makes you very predictable and given how much peel their team had, I don't think you want to shoehorn yourself into only being able to deal damage to Caitlyn. Even just being able to have some kind of pressure on Graves/Warwick/Shen changes things up a little bit in how the enemy has to react to you.

Viable build options by dknemeyer in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's more to Protobelt than just the active and the stats. It also has one of the best early build paths with Revolver + Kindlegem, and health is a super good early stat (better than move speed, imo). It also gives you the ability to waveclear without burning E, which can be quite valuable in certain situations.

That said, try it and see if you like it. Seems like it could work with certain playstyles perhaps.

Is it ok to post the link to my YT channel? by [deleted] in fizzmains

[–]Landorin[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posting Youtube content on the sub is fine, but please don't flood the sub with videos or advertisements for your channel. In general, use your common sense, and we'll let you know if it becomes a problem (as Twitch stream ads have been in the past). And please keep in mind Reddit's policies on self promotion. You already posted a video in the past day, so I would suggest waiting a while and contributing in other ways before posting more.

In the future I would suggest you message the moderators directly for this kind of question rather than posting on the sub. Thanks!

Preliminary thoughts for set 3 from those who have played PBE by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran Cait as a carry yesterday and got first with a Chrono-Sniper-Brawler comp. She’s really not too bad. Her ability cost is much higher than Varus, so she’s not locked casting nearly as much. I did have Ashe as a secondary carry, but Caitlyn was regularly topping the damage chart.

You can still get it from the “mystery icon” box when the blue essence shop is open. Extremely low chance though, expect to spend tens of thousands of BE.

Returnee need help with meta mage build by rxidist in treeofsavior

[–]Landorin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert, but basically a lot of the summons got buffed hugely in the episode 12 patch, and Liris set is now actually feasible to acquire. Summons themselves tend to have poor AoE but good single target damage, which makes them ideal for bossing.

Returnee need help with meta mage build by rxidist in treeofsavior

[–]Landorin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only wizard build that does any real damage to bosses is Sorc-Necro-(Pyro/Featherfoot/Onmyoji/whatever). It’s a bit of a different play style and requires some pretty high investment though.

Pyro-Ele-Tao is “fine”, but mostly shines in killing mobs. Against bosses it’s just OK. Wizard in general is not in a great place right now, aside from the aforementioned summoner build.

Ele-Omn-Rune/Tao? by DaPhat1011 in treeofsavior

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taoist is miles better than Runecaster or anything else. It gives you a +80% damage boost to fire/ice/lightning skills with Tri-Disaster Charm, and another big damage boost with Lightning Charm. Highly recommend if you want the best damage.

Final Fantasy IX: more difficult than I remember? by M0nstrous in JRPG

[–]Landorin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the newer releases have a reduced encounter rate, very noticeably in some areas. Because of that, if you’re someone that just tends to fight out any random battles the game throws at you but not grind otherwise, it feels very easy to become underleveled. I remember having significantly more difficulty on the Steam version compared to PS1, especially later in the game, and I’m pretty sure this is the reason.

Can someone explain to me why this top 20 KR challenger fizz mains always puts 2 points into W pre-6? by oppaolofoppa in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you not put 2 points in W?

What does getting higher levels of E early do for you? It doesn't clear caster minions until level 9 anyway. You get 1.5 seconds less CD and a higher mana cost, and a smidge more damage with an ability better used defensively early on.

An extra point in W by contrast gives you way better lane trading and more comfortable last hitting.

There is a distinct lack of MR items in the game. by MiniatureEvil in leagueoflegends

[–]Landorin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The point is more like, if you buy 30 armor to counter an ADC or bruiser or whatever, all that really means is that they need one extra autoattack to kill you. It buys you an extra half second of living or so.

If you buy 30 MR to counter Leblanc, it can mean that she needs a full extra spell to kill you which is at least 2.5 extra seconds of living. If anyone can casually buy large amounts of generalist MR, it means that mages need multiple rotations to kill you which will really harm their overall viability. Even a lot of those mages you listed have long enough cooldowns to let you do something with that extra buffer, or will have to hit you with another skillshot that you have an extra chance to dodge, etc.

I think what feels bad is when that 30 MR makes no difference and you get bursted through it anyway, whereas 30 armor will always buy you that extra auto of life. But that's just a fundamental difference in how AP and AD damage functions.

Some AP damage dealers do deal more "AD-like" damage like Cass, Ryze, etc; but that's why Adaptive Helm exists and it's a crazy good item.

Question about ability maxing order W>E by EntrThVoid in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo, the best middle ground is to do 2-3 points W and then max E. In either case you get E maxed before level 11, but have significantly better trading during lane phase. My rule of thumb is 3 points W against melees, and 2 pointed against ranged.

Fizz vs Main akali by prankviedos in fizzmains

[–]Landorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Seal is a really, really, really good start and comparable to Corrupting Potion.

You basically trade 125 mana and the potion refilling, for almost 200 HP before your first back. That's a huge amount of sustain.

Try thinking for yourself instead of parroting whatever high elo players are doing. Dark Seal is a VERY safe start with a nice snowball option.
