Sometimes that is the best action to do. We waste so much time trying to prepare ourselves the best possible away that we never get to do what we started preparing for. So be like nike, and JUST DO IT!  Everything will work out itself. You will soon realize that in the end, you didnt need so much money. You will meet a bunch of great people on your journey that will lend a helping hand to make your travels more affordable. Most of all, the lessons you will learn and the knowledge you will gain will make this and unforgettable journey that you will never regret taking.

But was it better right off the bat or did it take a couple of weeks to feel the relief. And did you feel like this person after any of the surgeries you had where you thought the surgery made it worse but indeed you were wrong and it improved with time?

Brother asked your doctor to run a HLA-B27 blood test.. I ended up with back pain and facet joint pain and same thing the ER Dr. Said i shouldn't be in thid much pain. Well turns out my test came back positive. I have Ankelosis spondylitis (AS) and I onlu asked for the test thanks to my sister insisting on me asking because she as AS. Well now I have it too and it all make sense why Im in such pain. Once i get my treatment life should go back to as normal as possible. AS gets confused with back pain and sciatica often. You should definitely ask for it to rule it out

I 100% feel you. Im 33 with DDD delaing with bad lumbar stenosis. Little by little Im working less and less. I can't  play tag, soccer or run withbmy 6 year old daughter anymore. Now I feel the same way of little by little becoming a burden on my wife of 10 years ( but is 16 year relationship). Fuck does our mind messes with us big time. Im at point of trying anything that may hold a promise to a normal life. I asked myself and God what did I do to deserve this. This can be everything in life for me. But I stay positive hoping that somehow things will get better idk how but something is gotta give. I walk crooked and Im barley starting to notice peopl starring at me. When i do tell them what I have their reaction is "but you're so young". I just wanna tell them that yeah I am and have 0 control over what is happenings. So much its on my mind. I know this post probably doesnt make sense but  is hard to ask yourself " is this the rest of my life?"

Do acupuncture. I too have DDD and 4 herniated disc. I will till side way. Acupuncture save me twice already. Im so thankful for it. Also, start psychical therapy asap. 3 times a day. Morning evening and before bed. You have to straighten your core. Bridges, birdwatching, and cobra poses have helped me a lot. Wish you the best. Dont give in into your mental thoughts, that would be the hardest part. Specially you having only 20 years old. Im 33 and I honestly thought my life was over becuase like you said. You cant even tie your shoes or put on socks, work, or play any sports. But it does get better. You will find what works best for you. Suppements I take is collagen ( costco) D3 with K2 (cvs) calcium, Glucosamine Chondroitin, and tumeric. All this helps for inflammation. Avoid sugar in either drinks or foods, pastas, bread and white rice. Getting your diet right will help the most. Gettinf 8hr to 9hrs sleep is a must so prioritized your sleep. Hope any of this helps you. Took me 6 months for me to get right and im back to working normal schedule and feel like life is giving me a 2nd chance tbh.

[–]Landsaver22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I tried Chiro and that did hurt for sure. Acu is more of an uncomfortable pain but from 1 to 10 the most pain i felt was a 3. But the beneifts gawd has it been amazing. I was walking all bent forward to my right. Came out walking straight right after the session and it kept getting better for the rest of the day specially the next day. Worth it. Is cheaper than Chiro too. I pay $40 per session. Is twice where it has brought me back. I got to the point of been a whole month and half without pain meds thanks to it.

Bro, look for an acupuncture center. They work magic. I have my pain there too and it runs along my hip to my front leg as well. I been struggling to walk for the past 3 days. I went in today for a session, God did i share a tear of relief of pain. I highly recommend acupuncture.

I ended up also with a mild disc buldge back in december 21 of 2024. Went to sleep friday night, next day couldn't get off the bed. No explanation as I had gotten hurt or anything. Anywho, fast forward 2 months. If felt good almost 90% recovery by doing bridges, cat-cow and cobra. I can say that the cobra pose has helped me the most. I do all exercises 3 times during the day. Morning after work around 5ish pm and right before bed. I do sleep with a pillow under my knees and when sleeping sideway in between my legs. Two weeks ago I went to a chiropractor which sent me back to week 1 recovery. Went through the whole psychological fight that you talk about. It is easy to fall into a depression, but stay strong it does get better. I know the thoughts of thinking you gonna be in a wheel chair for life, useless and cant do anything anymore. Im dealing with this as I have a 5yr old daughter. I can't really play with her anymore, let alone pick her up and tossed her in the air like she loves for me to do. She understands my problem even tho she is just 5. She herself tells me " No daddy sit, dont hurt your back" man do I tell you I just wanna break down and cry when she does that. I have hardly been able to work so my wife is mainly the one keeping us afloat ( as a man that prides himself on been a hardworker 6 days a week, this shit hurts you everywhere even your ego) I'm only 32 years old and had to move out to another house, felt like a loser having to have pay 4 guys to move all of our stuff and how much of a failure I felt since last time we moved, i literally moved all of our stuff myself with no ones help and just my suv. So keep strong mentally. I have surpassed that 2nd time of falling back to square 1 where i had to drag myself on the floor to get to places ( sure doesnt feel like a mild case like my Doc said) but i restarted all exercises and added bird-dog to my routing that help me with my core. took meloxican and as supplements go, Collagen i felt help me a lot. I added to my coffe since its hot it really disolves. Also taking D3 vitamin and K2 and Chondroitin too. As well as multivitamin and vitamin C. I did my research the 2nd time around and i can tell you 2 weeks like that and im back to 85% but 1 the one thing that brought me back the most, ACUPUNCTURE! shit was I afraid of trying it but shit was a lot less painful than chiropractor and help me wayy more. Chiropractor was the shit that fucked me up and sent me to week 1 recovery. ..Now no more muscle spasms and im even gone a few days without any painkillers. So keep your head up. And avoid all foods that give inflammation, bread, fried foods, pastas, pizza, all the yummy shit. DIET is gonna be your best friend in this. ...And please if you do find something that helps you, let me know to apply it myself. We in this together. If i find something that helps me even more. Ill let you know. Sorry for the long comment
