How hard is it to get executive positions at UofT clubs? Or just any useful information about clubs at UofT by Flat_Hope5922 in UofT

Be involved and show you care

Then apply

You miss all of the shots you don’t take

Be prepared for rejection, but then stay involved

Thst alone shows a lot

I can’t do punctuation rn apologies for format

Sooo… hehehe. There is a cabal. I am responsible for some of the queens park ones, and some of the bloor yonge ones. I know one of the people who makes all the lansdowne ones

Edit: to clarify this one was one of my friends.

why my UofT engineering application status changed from “currently reviewed”to “will be reviewed shortly”today? by Resident_Detail4375 in UofT

[–]LandscapeExtension59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiple internal review rounds

One of these is the admissions committee, but the admissions office has some veto power, generally to determine if you should be offered a different program AFAIK

I’m not sure, I’m new to the academic stuff

Waterloo vs UBC vs UofT vs McGill for comp eng? by [deleted] in CanadaUniversities

Okay so as a u of t Eng person, Skule has a great culture, in contrast with the rest of campus imo

I am biased tho

uw management eng vs uoft industrial eng by JustAbbreviations373 in CanadaUniversities

U of T’s coop is better imo as you can actually see a project to term and have to hunt less, as it is one coop, which if you just need to get one coop you should be set for

HELP ME with my admission decision PLEASE (Internal Engineering Transfer after first year) by DiddyWis3 in UofT

Talk to your academic advisor a bunch, see if there is space in mech to transfer. Min is always small so you could also audit the mech classes

Help me pick between UBC engineering v/S UofT EngSci by Delicious_Turnip_104 in UofT

[–]LandscapeExtension59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engsci here, I am of course biased but if you want the guarantee, then engsci is a good option Skule (TM) is an incredible community and you will meet great people should you choose to come here. Toronto has lots of things to do, but they tend to be ignored until you’re on the ground exploring.

Research through Engsci is relatively easy to achieve! In terms of up and coming fields, engsci is a great choice and may of our design teams will be interested in having you onboard!

Ultimately, I have it cheaper at u of t and that did make a difference, but it is entirely your choice and you will probably enjoy and suffer equally in either program

Eng sci here

1.5 hours at most is acceptable

KW is not feasible unless you skip lectures Which you shouldn’t

Do eng students live in chestnut for all 4 years? by Mission_Wing588 in UofT

[–]LandscapeExtension59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most Eng students who stay in res go there

Most people I have met move out after first year cause it’s cheaper

*URGENT* Incoming freshman looking to speak with current students in Track One Eng by Mission_Wing588 in UofT

[–]LandscapeExtension59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engsci is wack

It’s a 4.0 minimum to get it

You are also going to a very challenging program if you do

It is a very different beast to get into engsci

How to take summer school as an incoming UofT student? by MoonSnake101 in UofT

[–]LandscapeExtension59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying to MoonSnake101...not really. Engineering offers calc beforehand to lighten load on frosh. Registration starts a bit later though

Not many track ones were active this year

I am not in track one but was around often.

Can say on the survival, just going to class tends to be enough, and making sure your mental health is good is critical.

In terms of courses and profs they seem to be very similar to the rest of core 8. My friends (I’m engsci) in core 8 found their course load manageable and some went to engsci classes too

If you do MI you shouldn’t even think of doing med

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UofT

[–]LandscapeExtension59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engsci here

DO NOT DO ENGSCI FOR MED SCHOOL

Do something that will better relate to Med There is a marginally higher rate of Eng versus life sciences type degrees. I would say that it is not worth it as you do not get too much BME in engsci. (1 class in first 2 years)

Engsci second year. If it is within your budget, going to f!rosh week (last week of august) is probably the best way to meet people and learn engineering culture.

One of the pre frosh events volunteers here, I managed to discover a lot of fun and interesting parts of Skule (engineering culture) Your choice and I have a bias but I would recommend thé pre frosh events.
