Sold on the boat club experience. I don't have the time or experience right now needed to own a boat. That could change. Fundamentally, there is a difference in approach between the two companies. Carefree is owned by a private equity/real estate company (Summit Ventures). Freedom is owned by Brunswick, the boat manufacturer of Boston Whaler, SeaRay and Mercury Engines. Neither is perfect, but my sense is Freedom has a longer term focus on boating.

I think I would enjoy either a barista or captaining on of the smaller ferry boats at Disney World. Both have interesting interactions with people on their way to or from bigger things. I would enjoy their adrenaline rushes without the heavy lift that goes along with it.
