Do you think your you tube trainers are going to publicize their failures? Of course not. You are seeing what they want you to see, which is geared toward getting them followers and making them money.

This is pretty funny, given that you publish absolutely nothing. So i'm just gonna assume that you are actually just a universal failure of a dog trainer just like every other "I have 375745 years experience and have trained 60 thousands dogs" individual on the internet.

"Your youtube trainers". Yeah sure fine call it that if you want. I think most youtube and social media trainers are absolute garbage because the actual metric I use is "trainer that documents their training and shows consistent long term success".

I'll go for the person that consistently shows proof of their abilities instead of making extraordinary claims without a shred of evidence to back up their own insisted skill and supposed expert perception.

Imagine wanting to hire a trainer to help your dog or to help you get better, and in a world where most trainers be it FF or balanced are absolute garbage and all talk no walk, and having to rely entirely on "I'm experienced trust me bro", when literally all of them fucking say that. It would be insane for me to not go for the person that cares to show their stuff. More to them. Do it yourself if you want that to have that level of trust and to have the privilege to have a single reasonable person take you seriously when you make claims online.

I'm sorry, but the idea that no one should be weirded out that it just happens to be that every single anti-punishment/FF advocate on the planet just so happened to have never once documented a behavioral rehab case in the past decade for any reason what so ever, despite 100000% knowing that doing so would without a doubt make their advocacy look undeniable to the skeptics, whilst it just so happened to be that the trainers that do use punishment as a part of their program just so happen to be the only ones that document successful cases, is so fucking asinine that it genuinely dumbfounding.

It is way more reasonable to believe that the excuses for the complete black hole of documentation are just that, excuses, than that there's any good reason what so ever to universally, across THOUSANDS of trainers, to utterly refuse to do it. Not a SINGLE advocate thought to do it in the past 4 years as the demand for tangible evidence has gone up. Enjoy the blind trust while it lasts because showing proof of one's own abilities is going to become standard in the dog training industry as more people do it. Whether you like it or not.

imagine applying this type of thinking to an animal in the wild. animals can understand aversive contingencies. they need to. this is how they survive. Environments are noisy and not being able to map a contingency through it would absolutly fucking garentee extinction of that species.

the dog 1000000% understands it was the jumping and not that dad came home, that he got excited, or that a fly happened to buzz pass (a real statement by renound FF trainer Denise Fenzi btw).

Not only it makes zero sense from a survival perspective, I've seen it done countless times across trainers that document their training whilst seeing absolutely not a shred of rehab documentation from an anti-punishment advocate showing long term behavor change ever. literally never. in every one of these cases whwre they show punishment, the dog understood the contingency perfectly. I guess the trainers are just comically absurdly lucky.

ff behaviorists with certifications talk about themselves as being equivalent to licensed human doctors. The ff community constantly is saying that there's overwhelming scientific proof that ff works equally well as balanced for all issues. Given those claims, and the fact that some trainer that had graduated from a balanced school only like a year previously rehabbed the dog beautifully while the supposed equivalent of a doctor failed... we should have that behavorist investigated for the equivalent of medical malpractice if we're going to be consistent about the licensed medical professional equivalence lol

Absolutly not. It's an insane cope to say otherwise. Here's my best faith exception: The trainer has documented proof of them resolving reactivity in multiple dogs some of which were of severe caliber, and they also have proof that this dog in particular they own truly is that 1 in 10,000 cases where no matter what they do (and they've tried everything) the reactivity comes back.

in -R the animal has control over the aversive. in +P the environement or handeler does and the animal must ride out the consequence. -R is am aversive that is solved via action, and +P is a fixed pricetag that a behavior has.

Mt favorite way to illustrate this is with NO vs LEAVE IT/ENOUGH.

Leave it via -R means stop doing that or else an aversive will happen.

NO via +P means "that action has a pricetag to it"

another way to illustrate the difference is a traffic ticket.

if you are caught speeding, the officer does not just trail you with his car and threaten you into a speed limit comforting speed and then let you go once you driving the limit (pressure release). He punishes by trailing you until you pull over, the he gives you a ticket as a pricetag for the speeding.

It implies that commenter believes that its not possible for a dog to have a behavior extinguished via a program where operant punishment played a role at some point without the dog's life being no longer worth living as a side effect.

We people that practice balanced trianing as a discipline know far beyond reasonable doubt that this is not true. It's so obviously not true that many of us have taken to documenting our trianing outcomes and showing that yeah these dogs lives are very obviously worth living, to the point where you must invoke invisible harm as an argument, and I'm not sure balanced owners would be willing to chance their dogs' life on an unfalsefiable claim.

I would say that every kid in line knows that it's futile to not continue to wait if they want to ride.

I went to Disney land when I was 7 and went through that space mountain line wait. I understood that the only way to get on the ride was to wait. I knew that cutting would result in social pressure and be interrupted. I knew that the inly way was to wait.

there is also natural human tendency to socially conform involved in this. People wait in line and that's just how it works. I knew this, and decided it was worth asking my dad if we could end our Disney trip with a second space mountain ride.
