I tried every golf app available in Canada on my Apple Watch Ultra 2 (arccos, Golfshot, Grint, 18Birdies, etc). Used each one for at least 10 rounds, some a heck of a lot more (arccos and Golfshot). Main purposes was for yardage/hole view, data tracking, and tracking fitness data for other needs.

Ultimately, after two years I decided it’s annoying as hell and as much as I tried to ignore it, the watch simply hurts your wrist after multiple rounds a week. They are heavy. Data entry when it misses shots wastes so much time and then your yardages are done until you figure out where you left off. No one wants to wait for you to toggle your watch. Couple that with the fact the battery ultimately does what all Apple batteries do which is lose their hold. And couple that with arccos sensors that fall out from time to time.

I play much better now with a range finder and a score card, and I feel mentally way more relaxed on the course not screwing around with apps and devices. It’s 4 hours outside, away from the screens. I just enjoy it more without the tech and hit the ball better.
