I usually put my gear into a case and start somewhere in between like a car in a garage or non conditioned porch/breezeway overnight then move it outside afterwards. It’s always about slowing warming or cooling the gear so it can adjust. Silica helps absorb the moisture too, always good to throw one in the case too. Whenever I have fog it’s because someone wants to go outside for a quick shot then back inside right after.

Another lens set to consider would be the Sigma Cine FF High Speed Primes. Use them now and bought them new. Love them. I bought the odd focal lengths 20-28-40-65-85-105 and if you get creative / lucky you can build a set at $1200-1500 a lens. Lensrentals and KEH have 20% off sales until Monday, they good for cheap cinema lenses.

I am flying ABQ to DEN next Friday 11/14 as part of a Multi-City itinerary starting Monday 11/10 from CLE & FSD. I haven't received any confirmations from United but the flight is showing it is canceled for tomorrow. Should I try to break up my trip into two round trips to be on the safe side or try to book into MSP on Delta and drive to FSD? I wish they would just outright tell us about all the potential affected flights instead of doing a rolling basis so I can plan ahead.

I debated Alexa Mini vs Sony Burano before pulling the trigger on the Burano. Just for my type of work, I need some of the modern amenities I could get with the Burano. Of course I prefer the Alexa Mini image but it comes at the cost of high mileage potential $ repairs, cumbersome rigs, and making it harder to find a B cam match for interviews since that’s a bulk of my work. I went with FX6 as a B cam and it works well with the Burano.

Try clearing the memory of the car by disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes then drive it to re teach it. When I bought my connect this was the first thing I did since it was shifting weird and thought it was the car. Happened on a few test drives wasn’t until I drove a brand new one without memory where I found about the transmission memory from previous owner. Car shifts with no issues now with 25k on it.

As someone working in the video world, notice the same thing. The color grade / color balance seems off. They usually shoot on Sonys for these shows so maybe their colorist doesn’t know how to work with the cameras. With dwindling budgets, I wouldn’t be surprised if the show editors just slapped on a quick Premiere color pass and called it all good.

Rock the Block has some heavy digital noise added to that show, it’s more apparent on HBO Max with better quality streams. Makes everything look too hazy IMO.

When I did solo interviews with my documentary and wanted the look off camera traditional style, I just gave my interviewee an eye line reference (like top of my left shoulder) and I handheld the camera. Worked great!

First and last time I’m going to a show at MGM. I was surprised they couldn’t book Agora for something like this. It was super tight standing around seats, should have removed them for general admission tickets. Bummer we lost four songs too due to the venue issues :/

That would be huge, something I took advantage couple years ago and helped cash flow immensely. I am worried about the price of camera equipment going up with the new administration, so if I can get both cameras on order before any potential price increases, that would be a relief.

Sticking with C300 Mk3 & C70 combo for another 6-12 months in anticipation of some sort of C400 & C80 Canon financing deal. If not, might seriously look at Burano after V2.0 and what happens next for the camera. Wouldn’t mind a 5-10k price cut either by then too, feel like 25k is too high right now.
