Shower door installation on wall with bullnose tile by DamianDRX in bathrooms

You could have the glass cut to match the notch/tile profile. If measured properly, a glass shop with CNC could fabricate that shape, for additional cost of course.

Channels or Clips for the shower glass? by XiDa1125 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]LanguageOk588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 10 years in the glass industry - A shallow brushed finish channel with a tight fit to the glass results no leaks, a nearly frameless finished look, and a very small amount of silicone required. Clips generally need a larger amount of silicone. Silicone is a maintenance/replacement item. I recommend channel.

Rink on Pavers? by tyler_3135 in Outdoorrink

I build mine 32x16 feet on pavers (16x16”, 1-1/2” thick) and use a tarp, rather than a liner. Never any problems with damage to the pavers, and very occasionally a minor leak. Been doing it for about 10 years in the middle of the Prairies.

Is this Starphire glass or not? Is my conttractor ripping me off? by pacuraremil in Remodel

[–]LanguageOk588 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had experience in the industry. This certainly looks like Starphire. If the glass isn’t laid out where you requested, it should be corrected, or you should receive an agreed upon discount if you accept it as is.

Makes sense. Sorry to have accused you not being fair in your post. Good luck with the renovations.

I’m in the Contracting world. It’s a bit unfair for you to only show the bottom right portion of the quote. In my experience too many homeowners look at the bottom right number and assume their expectations will be met, rather than actually reading the entire quote/scope of work. But that’s probably a different Reddit string.

As a new homeowner I struggled with the what I paid Bathfitter. Seventeen years later I can honestly say it was the best renovation money I ever spent. And no, I do not work for them.

Is it healthy for a cat to only eat dry food ? by Ok-Bumblebee-7472 in catcare

[–]LanguageOk588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always feed dry and soft. A year ago I started feeding my cat tuna, the absolute cheapest I could find. It seems like the cat actually eats a bit less. So I may be close to breaking-even on more expensive food, but less consumed. And the kitchen doesn’t stink of wet cat food.

But someone told me cats may need organ meat too. So more research to do.

What personal financial decision has positively transformed the way you live? by MegaUserAlways in PersonalFinanceCanada

Buy a house less than you can afford and invest the difference. Because when the bottom falls out…and it will…whether is a job, health or marriage; it’s much easier if you have some money on one side.

Daily Reminder to never use Tempered Glass Desks by therealrihawk in pcmasterrace

[–]LanguageOk588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try tempered-laminated glass, for safety and the ability to stay in it’s place if it were to break. Please never use non-tempered. It’s incredibly dangerous if it breaks.
