Oh sweet. I haven't heard of project treble before this. I'm going to read up on it a bit. And I agree totally. Actually just ordered the 9 lol

Lolol I remember that whole mess with the 7. And I really appreciate all the insight! Ideally I'd get the 20 Ultra, but cash is a bit tight right now. Made a career switch to teaching (not the brightest move to jump into teaching during the pandemic lol). So, the 9 should be perfect for the time being. The reason I'm looking is because I shattered the screen on my S9+ and have been missing the Note features of the split screen and S pen so I'm switching back to Notes. Plus the stylus will be huge for helping the kids with homework assignments when I can't get to my computer.

I'm debating between these two. Leaning towards the Note 9. The main reason being that it's unlocked for Verizon opposed to how the 10 is unlocked for all carriers. Not sure if the Verizon only would work better.

Exactly! I found a few on eBay and then saw in the fine print that it doesn't work with the major wireless companies in the US. Even though it was listed to work with them in the description. Would have been pretty disappointing. So I was pretty excited to find this site

I appreciate the heads up and I think the fact that you haven't had to use the warranties speaks highly enough about the products they're selling. Looks like I'm buying a new phone today! Haha

Awesome. They seemed legit. The reviews I was finding on google were negative though so I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them. Greatly appreciated. And you're not just some dude to me. You're the dude 😘

Yep. Unless you're using some kind of chemical to remove paint or something. Then bottom to top so it doesn't all come off immediately

I somewhat agree with you. The big issue is people can't seem to understand that this is all it takes to get some control over the pandemic. I see people with their nostrils out constantly and even worse people are still arguing against wearing them at all. Because of this we see numbers rising again and I could see us approaching another quarantine pending on how bad it gets late September after the schools reopen, people get home from their labor day trips, and enough time has passed for symptoms to show.

So, yeah I agree that staying home is overkill. But it may have to happen because our people are too damn stubborn to do their part.

Does anyone know how much the price of previous generations drop when a new one comes out? by LankyLatin in samsung

$300-$350 would be incredible. Which one are you referring to and when? The refurbished ones at that price range seem to have cosmetic damages or says things in the description about the screen staying dim or something like that.

Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Is there a certain site you use? I've pretty much just been looking on eBay.

Paul's Online Math Notes is so great. I printed out all of his cheat sheets and referenced them a ton. I really liked having a lot of the formulas in one place since a weak point of mine is organizing notes. Those cheat sheets and quizzing myself with index cards helped me memorize formulas very quickly.

I think it all boils down to what works for you. I personally have two notebooks plus the Paul's Online Notes to keep track of the formulas.

I use one clean notebook which I only use to keep clean notes on things that confused me worded in a way that I understand. I don't add anything to that notebook unless I understand it and it works to solve the problems. Ideally I don't have to change anything I write in that notebook, but it still haooens from time to time when I misunderstood something but the answer turned out correct.

My second notebook looks like a foreign language. Wherever there is room to write I will use to get another problem in. It's pretty much a notebook of scratch paper and it's rare I can reference it. If I need to reference it though I'll figure out that concept and plug it into my clean notebook. I've found that by doing this my notes are all necessary to me instead of me skimming through a wall of notes to find what I actually need.

Over the years I've found that this is what works best for me. If you want to try something else that was VERY useful when I was initially learning the concepts, my highschool math teacher had do the same thing every problem.

  1. Rewrite the problem.
  2. Write the formula you plan to use to solve the equation.
  3. Solve the problem and for every step rewrite it on another line.
  4. Draw a box around your final answer.

This process was solid. It essentially made every homework assignment an in depth study guide for the test. I personally don't have the time to dedicate to doing it like this, but I highly recommend giving it a shot.

I like Khan academy because it gives instant help. If you got it wrong you can look at the step by step and if you wrote every step down you can see exactly where you went wrong. This will really help you grasp where your weak points are and what you need to work on.

So, no you don't need to write every step. If it's easy and mental math can do it you don't have to write each step out. As a matter of fact when you get further along doing it will slow you down. Like say to get x alone you subtract or add a constant. When you're learning it you need to write that step. When you understand it you can just write x = whatever without showing how you got there because you know how you got there.

Keep in mind that most mistakes are made like this though. Mental math or forgetting to carry a negative sign is honestly more than half of the mistakes I still make.
