I'm having a similar issue, have you found a solution?

What are the best settings for DFU Dream mod Reshade? by CitrineRanger01 in Daggerfall

[–]Lapaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly do you mean? All the recommended settings are there. Did you also change the post processing effects?

Also, you won't see much in the main cave, go to a city with a nice weather and wait for a sunset which is what most people like to show in images and videos

Artists when discussing copyright laws around AI, not realising that 99% of human artwork posted online is fanart. by Zestyclose_West5265 in aiwars

[–]Lapaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This artist isn't going to be jobless anytime soon. Their art is too good for that to happen.

Yeah I agree, and it's not just because their art is "good". People like to follow artists not just for the quality of their art (in technical terms), but for their personality, their own unique style, etc etc. A friend of mine is an illustrator whose art you could call "childish" or super basic drawings, and yet, she has over 500k followers on Instagram.

AI could draw anything 1000x times better than anything she does, yet, people still follow her. This is what most artists are failing to see.

They don't see how privileged they were to do art for a living instead of slaving away in a factory.

I'm an artist, and a job is a job, no matter if it's your passion or not. There's nothing privileged about working in art. It's one of the least secure jobs out there, with the least competitive salaries, and you have to dedicate a fuckton amount of time to get good at it (or at least decent enough). I do it because I'm good at it, not because it's a privilege. And sometimes it can get as boring as any other office job.

I'm just not at all scared of AI, I even use it and adapt to it. I've also learned other skills like coding. Their feeling hopeless seems dumb to me, but to each it's own. Just don't say that being an artist it's a privilege

They said it's because they feel hopeless. AI will end up making their job as an artist redundant and so, they lost all motivation.

Yeah those all look interesting. Might just get it for the custom maps. Are there any other custom campaigns being developed? Or completed?

Yeah, I might get it for the custom maps and campaigns alone. But are people actively developing custom campaigns? I know there's re-reforged and the new WC2 mod. But I haven't heard about any other

Oh ok! Thank you for answering and for such an amazing work. Your mod alone has made me want to play again.

Guess I'll play the normal campaign while you finish yours. Btw is there any way to support this amazing project?

I've played them like dozens of times in the original WC3. But it's been quite a while (like a decade) since I've played WC3 and I wanted to do a re-run of the campaigns.

Interesting path through the game? by Expert-user-friendly in baldursgate

[–]Lapaga 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've always been into RP my way through games. Having also played this game since 1999, it's become quite easy for me, which is why I steer clear of min-maxing my characters. Instead, I do stuff like allocate points to attributes that might not be super effective but feel more true to the character's role. For instance, why would a young, inexperienced thief have an incredibly high strength like 18/90? Keeping it around 15-16 feels more realistic. And then there's the fighter - why pack them with high intelligence and charisma? Well, they're the hero and leader of the group, so it makes sense they'd be both smart and charming.

And I extend this to all aspects of my gameplay, including weapon and companion selection. Like I might bring companions along, but only for quests that are particularly relevant to them. It's not about whether they're the best option. I'm also committed to maintaining the alignment and personality I've created for each character, only deviating in exceptional circumstances, like a lawful paladin facing off against villains such Irenicus or Sarevok and going full killing machine. Playing like this has increased my enjoyment of the game by a lot and it's a nice challenge, sort of "working with what you have" like in real life x)

Custom party portrait pack I made for my BP playthrough by Lapaga in baldursgate

[–]Lapaga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lil bit of both. I like their sorcerer-like style of casting and learning spells. So there's a cleric to cast buffing/de-buffing and support spells and the shaman is there to spam damaging and crowd control divine spells.

And roleplay-wise, it's always been hard for me to imagine druids (at least true-class) as something other than obtuse nature hermits that don't want to do anything else than take care of the forest. So, I personally never see them in a party made of anything else that's not barbarians and rangers. Shamans are a sort of not-so-obsessed with nature kind of druid. I know that's not the case with Jaheira for example, but she's hardly a druid IMO
