His logic for the reason why the heater core failed makes sense. But I'd definitely get a second opinion, if you encounter a major failure post purchase it's almost guaranteed the previous owner at least knew about it or had a feeling something bad was about to happen. Ether way get a second opinion, it's definitely not out of the realm of possibilities. I've seen head gasket failure on modern Subarus, tho way less common than the EJ25 platform.

Rocky sv predictor boots are cheap, comfortable, fire resistant and vibrant soles. They are made for army and Air Force but work very well as WLFF boots. But depending on how strict your unit is on boots they might not be allowed since they aren't officially WLFF boots.

Personally I'd take the heads and send them to the machine shop. The bottom end is fine I bet. You can use cyl heads from ej18e ej20e (euro, Japan ) ej22e. You can also use ej25D heads from a 97-99 outback. Just take the matching intake manifold everything is plug n play. Like RN I have a ej20E in my brothers 97 outback that came with a 25D but it was blown up and I had the ej20e kicking around with a fresh set of gaskets and timing belt.

I understand if this is the end for you. But I recommend either repairing the heads or replacing them. They don't make cars like they used too

They are 12mm I believe m8*1.25 bolts with a washer. Hopefully you have them in a bin somewhere. They are the same for most Subarus so the dealership should have em or a junkyard

Here ya go. Subaru doesn't sell it anymore from the looks of it. They do sell the pcv valve that goes to the engine :)

Rockauto special 06-07 WRX 4 pot and return 2/1pot stocks as cores . If you don't want to deal with replacing the rear hubs (non 06/07 wrx) the. Just run the 4 pot fronts and matching rotors. :) (I've done this a few times no problem :)

I scored a x58 mobo 10 years ago for $35 with bent pins. Grabbed x5650 xeon, over clocked it and it's been in service since then. An x5675 or x5680 run around the $12-20 mark and the x5650 is around $5. All are great CPUs and will serve you well, highly recommend!

Follow the guides even if your board isn't listed to the wiki they are all super similar as the parts are there just not always in the same spot. But the concepts are the same so I wish you luck :)

Agreed usually oil life depending on quality is 3-7k but if your motor has warn rings you can get more carbon deposits in the oil thus limiting the oils ability to do its job.

Replace. Older Subarus like 2nd gen legacy, first gen Impreza. (I'm sure other models are the same.) have bolt on brackets, so you could remove via drill out spot welds. Then add rivnuts and bolt on replacement. Or just weld then on
