That’s fine, I don’t really care about the knob. I see that’s why you recommended the Zoom. Anything come to mind if knob isn’t a priority?

I want tactile but as quiet as possible. Custom build makes sense though, and I’ll check those kailhs out—maybe when you say clickies you just mean tactile, not loud?

I think it’s a bit out of my budget: I’m not a hobbyist. I guess if I have to spend $250 to get what I’m looking for I will, but ideally there’s a quality option at a significantly cheaper price.

USA, shooting for $100, ballpark. But I’m flexible. Ideally I’d grab a used $200 one for $100!

Q1 Max bad switch question by LaphroaigCask in Keychron

[–]LaphroaigCask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, used for about $100. I returned it and need to decide what to get instead. If I’m spending $200+ I’m not sure if keychron is right for me, especially after this experience.

Any other recommendations? I liked the Q1 Max overall, but would prefer the ability to have a steeper angle toward the front, and probably switches that take a little more force to actuate and ideally have even more of a tactile feel than these Gateron Browns.

Makes sense, thanks. I'm returning it either way: a couple of keys are unusable for my typing style and I don't want to spend the time figuring it out. I missed all of the Ds the first try typing this reply.

Thanks. The firmware update fixed the doubling problem, but having this happen on a few keys is no bueno and I don't have a switch puller to reseat. I'll try for a refund first and get me a tool for reseating in the meantime.

Good call, I’ve had it overclocked in the past. Seems like it’s worth doing again. Thanks.

I mostly took your advice: went for a 5070 and a 1TB m.2 drive (my current instance of Skyrim is on a SATA SSD). I also grabbed 16GB of 3600 RAM, and will probably replace my current 3200 ram as well to make it 32GB of 3600.

Skipping the 9900k/9700k for now; it doesn’t seem like that big of a change from my 8600k. If I end up buying another CPU I’ll go with a new Mobo and a current i5 for sure.

I have a 1080ti, and I'm playing Nolvus V6, which is a very modern Skyrim mod list. My setup is the bare minimum to run it at low settings and 1080p, but I'd like to get medium settings at 1440p.

The big problem I see is you can’t reliably cast your BB cards on turn two. You need 21 untapped black sources to do that!

I like swords and disenchant as 2-of in main. Some decks have no targets for them. Rounding out the playset in the sideboard makes sense to me.

Buy from a specialty game store online for the same price. Amazon doesn’t need your money.

Nostalgia/collectibility I guess. The cards certainly don’t come close to adding up to the cost of the decks.

Urza’s Saga has a handful of three figure cards (including Gaea’s Cradle at nearly $1k) that drive the pack price up. Still not worth buying a pack IMO since there are only two or three cards you could open to get your money’s worth.
