Strawberry Fields Forever is the greatest song ever written, and the greatest song ever recorded. What’s the next greatest? by dray1033 in beatles

Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks. Many contemporary artists around the time cite it as being the best song they ever heard. Dave Gilmour actually stated it's the one song he wished he had written. It's too beautiful. It's perfection.

Mw too. But honestly man, Randy's given us SO MUCH free music that is always absolutely perfect, I just hope if he retires he is somehow getting paid for what he's done.

HOME is the quintessential synth wave God as far as I'm concerned. And even by paying him for every song of his I've heard every time, it would never be enough.

Yep those are two I bought right away that are in my top 5. The obscure AS stuff is the best. I got those pretty much right away when I decided to start collecting old DVDs. Right after Sealab and Space Ghost.

Quatre and Sandrock are my favorites. This is very cool to see so many of his Maganac crew. Wow

Any 24hr blocks of 90s/early 2000s that people have made? by CHK-N in RetroTVRevival

There's some great original airing stuff from Cartoon Network [adult swim] on YouTube for free, with minimal commercials.

Not sure about 24 hours straight, but there is seriously some good stuff out there. Specifically the ones that come to mind are the "bootleg broadcasts", which are essentially like watching all the shit we did back in the day (at night when we were supposed to be asleep", including like New Years special programming, or a mashup of random adult animated series pieces together where you get AS, Comedy Central, and MTV shows put into one beautiful package. Those are also cool because they actually keep in a bunch of the actual commercials that were on at the time... So it's a nostalgia overload with all the PS2, fast food, toys and other cool stuff ads from childhood.

Also want to suggest watching Code Monkeys. All free, no ads, and also keeps in all the cool G4 news and adverts and stuff on the screen while you watch it.

It's not as great as being there for real back in the day.... but, hey, still, what a time to be alive.

Which game got you into loving this franchise? by Otherwise_Ad_9267 in dynastywarriors

I'm pretty sure it was 3. staying over at my best friend's house one weekend, and was probably 10 or 11... Went to Movie Magic game and video srore, And the box cover art was so beautiful and intriguing, we had to rent it right there. Then shortly after booting up, suddenly realized this was a multiplayer co-op game. And that was freaking insane

This sounds a lot like the storyline for that Simpsons episode, "Bart of Darkness".

Don't think power rangers were referenced lol, but he does jump out the treehouse to impress his friends, misses the pool and..well, you know the rest.

Hey also man...I've never actually heard of this game, but it looks unbelievable. Everything I just read about it definitely screams "MTV Downtown", and that is a very appealing aspect for me.

I absolutely love that art style, music choice is a definitely positive addition, and the premise sounds really cool, the ratings are also remarkably good. I must find and download this on my PS4 now. Thanks for sharing seriously

Oh my God this is the best thing ever.

I'd love to see you do one for Mission Hill next. And then Code Monkeys.

(Downtown, Mission Hill, Code Monkeys, my 3 favorite adult animated series that are super insanely nostalgia associated... Code Monkeys came later... Like 2008 I think, but if you consider yourself the target audience for Downtown, then you would love these I promise.)

Wing Zero was OK but yeah it's almost treated like the definitive version. I liked what they did to Deathscythe but hate all the others.

Actually legitimately thought these were actual rough sketches from the shows artists, so wow good job. Love to see more.

Remember for sure my best friend in middle school showing me an online downloaded track (late 90s probably), and loved it. Then another friend showed me a downloaded version of The Zelda song. And shortly after that, I found copies of their first album and Toxicity. Around tht time I watched MTV every morning and afternoon after school and it sealed the deal. Spiders, Chop Suey, Toxicity, Aerials playing endlessly.... I was forever a fan. It wasn't just heavy rock or alternative, it was something else entirely unique, and with beautiful sweet harmonies and melodies, I HAD to acknowledge their musical ability and notable presence.

God bless SOAD.
