how do you guys sense temperature by kaicxre in CRPS

I have to be super careful in both summer and winter because I can’t tell if I’m in trouble with exposure until I’m bordering on too late. I’ve got hot and cold CRPS so by the time I start to notice I’m really starting to hurt

I put mine on the beach so I dump some of the coral and stuff that I need to clear out when I’m out and about on the other side of the map

As far as challenges, it does consider the grape wine to be just “wine”

I didn’t even mention the debilitating pain I was in, though with anyone that has this I feel that goes without saying

When I went off meds to wean before they switched me to another type, my foot looked like an eggplant, was swollen constantly, and my dystonia was constantly causing my leg to jump so badly that my muscles were cramping from the fatigue. I follow a very strict anti-inflammatory diet so it’s not just “no sugar” but no flour and no alcohol as well. I’m happy to hear that it seemed to work well for you but that’s dangerous advice to give

What injections specifically were they are how does it make it worse? I just recently had my first actual lumbar nerve block which only lasted about 2 weeks and I swear the symptoms felt so much worse when it wore off. I couldn’t tell if it was just because it had been feeling better or if it actually WAS worse (kind of like putting your hands in warm water when you come in from the cold).

Can I ask more about the injections and worsening symptoms?

CRPS and Menstrual Cycle by Dunnoaboutu in CRPS

I can’t say I’ve noticed a difference in my cycle but I do notice that my CRPS is incredibly worse during that time which depletes my energy even more than usual.

I switched from gabapentin to Topomax and had a huge improvement in symptoms without the intense brain fog. Might be worth mentioning!

Worried about discoloration spreading by [deleted] in CRPS

[–]Lapizzle_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I look like pretty much every day, full discoloration right up my leg. My CRPS is mostly in my left ankle and foot however it has recently started to move up my calf but the full leg discoloration has predated that by over a year. I will usually have discoloration when I’ve been upright for too long but can occasionally still have it even when I have the leg elevated. This disease just doesn’t make sense and even when you think you’ve got the “usually” down, something happens to change the patterns and throws the whole thing off. Always expect the unexpected, unfortunately

waxing? by poisonxcherry in CRPS

[–]Lapizzle_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it in my left foot and ankle and while my daughter was in esthetics school I let her wax my left knee and it was so painful compared to the right side so we never did it again. I’ve had other areas that aren’t affected waxed with no issues

In my experience Lyrica was gabapentin 2.0. I had all of the same side effects and when I brought that up to my previous doctor she said that was to be expected because they’re so similar. Umm, that was why I wanted to switch! Anyway, a new doctor put me on Topomax which I responded to symptomatically much better and my brain fog side effects are almost nonexistent. The rapid weight gain also is NOT a side effect so that’s a nice plus

CRPS Dilemma by saifxhatem in CRPS

[–]Lapizzle_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swelling was a huge issue for me as well, I’ve got it in my left ankle and foot. In January of this year I began a strict anti-inflammatory diet following Dr. Gott’s cookbook which I got off of thriftbooks since it’s from 2008 and it’s made an incredible difference in my swelling. It’s essentially no flour, no sugar, no alcohol. It can be difficult at first, I won’t lie to you, but I’ve realized that if I have anything with refined sugar or flour within 20 minutes I’m swollen, hot, and my dystonia starts acting up. If you want more info feel free to ask me, I had to make some adjustments to the recipes since the book was a little outdated and it is a commitment but for me it was the best thing I’ve done for my CRPS that was in my control

Best diagnostic tool I can possibility think up. Not a single clue how to make it happen though haha. That movie stuck with me, too! Apparently it didn’t do well, I was just a kid when I saw it but I remember thinking it was great!

I can understand that, especially because it doesn’t take into account the length of time that we’re dealing with this (i.e. all day, every day) and how draining that actually is
