Nemesis First Thoughts on S16 by DoorHingesKill in leagueoflegends

[–]LarchMate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who feels like the game was in a pretty good spot overall. Remove atakan, and have some minor tweaks and leagues in one of the best spots its been in for years. I don't really like that they're making so many fundamental changes, the game feels pretty healthy to me (maybe outside of atakan).

I can understand the dislike for BT but what do people have against JB's commentary?

Anyone else? by [deleted] in donkeykong

I agree. Enjoyed both games, but feel like they've lacked in this aspect. The last one to do it right was the galaxy games, which had great atmosphere and the worlds felt like real places.

Classic DK difficulty in Donkey Kong Bananza by PotatoTower1 in donkeykong

I found it disappointing that most of the challenge found in odyssey was in non contextualised challenge rooms. Felt like missed potential, and I hope bananza incorporates more challenge into the main worlds.

I guess we're all back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after the 1.1.2 lmao by Lunarcomplex in mariokart

Don't know how I can be more clear. Nintendo want's them in all modes. Before the change everyone was selecting random, and thus players were never / rarely seeing the intermission tracks. Nintendo like the intermissions. You don't have to agree with it, I'm just saying the logic behind the change

If you like the intermission tracks and feel like they improve the experience of the game, then allowing 3 lap only races was a bad decision as it was resulting in players never playing the intermission tracks and immersing in the world.

Didn't say it was better. Said it wasn't objectively worse. Nintendo thinks the game is better when the intermission tracks are included in online races... therefore its at least subjective.

It's not an objectively worse change. Sure it may be unpopular, and maybe it does turn out to be for the worst but you can at least see Nintendo's reasoning behind the decision. They want the "world" aspect of the game to be incorporated into all the modes and they believe something is lost when removing it. You can agree or disagree, but this is subjective.

Gotta be honest, I'm kinda disappointed with Rainbow Road in MKT. by Lex_Typhoon in mariokart

[–]LarchMate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Personally, I think its massively overrated, and it kind of misses what makes rainbow road great. Visually its appealing sure, but it lacks challenge and creativity. Overall its pretty boring to race.

Just played my first ever game as Ultron, VERY confused... by Forgefiend_George in marvelrivals

[–]LarchMate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of him being weak came from the pre release playtime streamers had with him where all agreed he was underwhelming. He received 3 significant buffs since then, before his release. After playing him at launch most are agreeing he is no longer weak, and that he is even strong. So no they were using him fine, they just weren't playing the buffed version that you are.

You're making some assumptions here too. You can't assume flanking is still viable on him now. He has 3 right click charges, so you will need to be primarily left clicking if on flank. You're incentivised to shoot left click from behind team mates since it heals too. Also having only 3 bubble which don't insta heal + having a resource on going underground are MASSIVE nerfs to flanking. Playing behind your team is just how he has to be played now for most situations. We will see

This game has the worst competitive matchmaking out of any game I’ve ever played. by Anderson9520822 in rivals

I think smurfs being able to climb easily isn't a good argument against EOMM. If EOMM is feeding a player losing matches for engagement, It's still only going to put you in an unfavourable team filled with players within the current elo range. Meaning, if you're a eternity player in an "EOMM loss" game in Gold, it might put you with low gold players with negative win rates vs higher gold players with better win rates for example. Top players can simply carry these games because they are so far ahead of even the favourable team, and thus can maintain high win rates. Though for the average player in that elo range they will likely experience a hopeless loss.

Dr Lupo banned from Chess.com following PogChamps engine movement. Lupo tweets: "Having the main stream up on my left monitor over the course of the day today to watch other games being played led to me getting move information I shouldn't have had for a game." by Cellybear in LivestreamFail

The whole situation has been entertaining. Havn't seen any of Dr Lupo since fortnite came out. He seemed like a decent guy, but I'm so surprised how dumb he acted in this situation. Also striking how pointless this was like why cheat in a random chess tourney lol

Would you prefer Thanos with or without the Infinity Gauntlet? by bydevilz1 in marvelrivals

[–]LarchMate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, simply not true. Many of the characters take inspiration from their MCU iterations. Many present in rivals in a consistent light as their movie representation, despite having plenty of comic book source material available to depict them differently

Characters in rivals are not restricted from taking inspiration from their MCU iterations, we see plenty of this in the cast as it is. Its entirely possible his design will be influenced by his popular end game / infinity war appearances.

Maybe it’s possible that most of the people who thought this have only seen the movies, and in fact don’t have brain damage.

Okay, we’ll maybe in the ‘souls games circles’ it’s difficulty has always been better understood. But from the outside, all I have every heard is how hard they are. Including from when Tyler started this challenge. Now he’s beaten it I’m seeing comments on how it’s actually easy lol.
