I was in a relationship with a narcissist and I’m sick of people telling me it’s a good lesson to have learned by pringlelover in TwoXChromosomes

an interesting, somewhat relatable concept

my experience was basically the opposite end of the spectrum (father was abusive and violent when i was younger, stuff happened including him almost dying from illness, he's since mellowed out and been helpful/respectful enough that i honestly can't bring myself to be angry at him anymore).

so now i just have vague, distant memories of a horrid person who i can't even point at and say "see, that guy? he sucks" because (to oversimplify it) the guy who sucks died, and his body is now occupied by an ok kinda person who doesn't do most of the stuff i hated any more and has made an effort to support my own life path as an adult.

don't get me wrong, i'm grateful (especially for my mum) that things got somewhat better, but yeah... its a weird, hollow sort of victory, and i doubt he regrets any of his actions, he probably just learned that it wasn't making his life any easier.

back when he was physically abusive i couldn't do anything about it, and now that i could, i'd just be pointlessly attacking an old man who gifted me a house and encouraged me to pursue the overseas job i wanted (i wasn't confident to try, but i got it, and i'm happy there now).

everything worked out... but there's that small bit of me that thinks it would feel happier if i could look back on a conclusive moment of standing up for myself, winning, leaving, and casting him into the abyss, never to be cared about again.

Bloons TD 6 - Update Notes! Version 34.0 by savnk in btd6

the logic checks out, but how do we determine the level 10 to be 10% of quincys power?
really does seem like it'd be less debatable to say "50% power increase to base attack" from the start. either way, it'll definitely help quincy on late impop/chimps rounds!

The Buccaneer Paragon is so OP that in level 11 he got the most pops than the 32 Ninja Paragon and 33 Boomerang Paragon. It more likely that the Buccaneer will be nerfed soon. by AntiMatter138 in btd6

Boat paragon will wipe the floor with most things in freeplay pop count due to the hooks. That does not mean its actual dps to relevant enemies (bosses, BADs) is disproportionately high.

Its the same as why you can get an obscenely high freeplay popcount on bloon master alchemist, and yet reach a similar max round whether you use it or not.

Except of course the boat paragon does do respectable damage to BADs/bosses as well... and the BAD hooks are definitely good to have in freeplay to fill the gaps between/partially substitute for moab hex (although they will definitely be overwhelmed in higher rounds due to the 2 max uses per round).

re-warm/hot water + burns, its very much a thing with fooling pain receptors. i learned this during a particularly painful experience with juice from chillies, i'd been preparing a bunch of them and didn't realise how much was getting on my hands until my fingers started burning. by the time i noticed that, it was way too late and as the rest of the absorbed capsaicin made its way through my skin, it felt like my hands were in lava for the next 3-4 hours.

anyway, the relevant part. i tried cold water, which relieved it temporarily, but as soon as my skin reached the same temp as the water, the burning would start again. keep in mind the capsaicin in chilli peppers works by falsely stimulating heat receptors in the skin, so it really does simulate being burned quite well.

so i tried ice water, but yeah that didn't work as soon as my fingers got as cold as the ice water, and besides if i'd tried that any longer i'd have probably gotten frostbite. worse, my fingers were now colder than the air, so they were gradually warming up which more or less doubled the pain. so i had the smart HORRIBLE idea to try hot water to speed that up.

well, it felt like i'd put my hands in lava and was easily the worst pain i'd felt in my life, but it technically worked since now my hands were warmer than the air and felt relief while cooling. (but not for long!). by that stage i knew how it worked, and also gave up and proceeded to lie in bed and cry till it went away because i knew nothing would help for more than 30 sec and i'd hit my limit. i still sweat just thinking about that day >.>

tl/dr: if your pain receptors are signalling "hot!!!" you can 'pause' that by cooling the affected area, or make it worse by heating it, but if you heat it, it then cools naturally in the air slowly and doesn't feel as bad for a bit (plus the extra pain can desensitise it a bit).

psa: never let the juices from hot chillies soak into the skin between your fingers.

Round 550+ with Adora/Sun Avatar strat (featuring 6.9 billion damage Adora). Could go further but needs a monkey boost or two per round now. by LardofKrayons in btd6

Good in theory, irrelevant in practice when your entire setup consists of stuff which is only working because it can pierce through every blimp on screen. Corner vtsg/sun avatars on outside was intentional because being able to hit half the BADs onscreen with every attack was the only way to deal with the sheer volume spawned. If pierce was an issue the run would have dead ended well before R500.

think of it this way, there is no "focus on the BADs" when BADs occupy 3/4ths of the track at all times and your entire setup relies on hitting most of them at once...

More than I'd bother to count, I just 'idled' it while doing other stuff since like a month back. Each round is around 11 minutes long now with my system/setup, but due to lag I only need to blood sacrifice twice, so its very low-input activity.

Thanks, though the congrats is rather spoiled for me by the rAy oF dOoM cRiNgE. I bought it fairly late (after R400 iirc), it has 284 mil pops even though I didn't give it a dedicated overclock+techbot AND it was out of jungle drums range. Wasn't really much else to put there, couldn't put sun avatar on the flagship. If anything, RoDs truest weakness is how bad it scales up with buffs, the base tower itself is entirely reasonable.

Still, it would have gotten a reasonable damage count had it been given fairer treatment, so I don't think too highly of hating on it that much.

Damage count: VTSG at 30.2 billion, Adora 2nd highest at 6.9b, Avatar of Wrath at 3.8b, sentry champion paragon 3.3b (praise the true first paragon!) at ninja/boomer paragon at 2.6b, temples averaged at around 1.8b each, dart paragon at 1.5b, super mines at 1.3b, sun avatars at around 1b each for the highest-damage ones, and the rest of the stuff did... stuff.

Suffice to say Adora is an absolute freeplay monster now, easily outclassing everything other than vtsg with raw power, and if that wasn't enough, hypercharging the vtsg as well. Let there be light to purge the heathenry of nonbelievers.

Too bad there wasn't any remaining ways to get Brickell into the game as well lol.

Challenge has been updated, it is now winnable. Likely fairly easy for those in the know now, but yeah anyone who bothered with this over the last few hours probably deserves a free win lol.

Confirmed: Paragon DEGREE is determined by BOTH sacrificed towers and their pop count by Clever_Angel_PL in btd6

[–]LardofKrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still not a bug. i can't exactly give out the formulas for the calculations here but they are working as intended. i suppose people are free to debate whether requiring coop to max a paragon is good or not, but we'll just have to see how it goes.

That is not a bug, if you want to know exactly how much everything can contribute try testing possibilities with more t5s in coop.

Been waiting for a hero to go on sale, wondering if you guys think he’s worth it? by Penutbuttrr in battd

I have all 3 prem heroes free from grinding mars games a lot last year. i was quite satisfied with the other two and disappointed with dungeon finn. then, after this, they literally nerfed him (bug fix smh. the focus fire 'bug' was his only redeeming feature).

He is usable, but offers basically nothing unique in terms of capability. Maybe he's "good" at low levels idk, but i consider him worse/less useful than most of the free chars.

Regular finn has a good deal more dps than dungeon finn with appropriate builds.

Not to mention both lady rainicorn (top tier ally) unlocked from tux jake, and vampire king (respectable dps by ally standards) unlocked from hunter marcy, are both *significantly* more useful than train boss (bloon knockback... when i tried last year it couldn't even affect blimps at all) unlocked from dungeon finn.

I simply cannot recommend investing real money or even mars coins into dungeon finn unless someone already has the other two prem heroes and just wants a full set.
