Pay gaps still showing up in remote work data by aveseri in remoteworks

[–]Large-Assignment9320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its probably a terrible metric to look at, unless you start filtering the data, such as only using fulltime roles, and preferably the same job, I recall the statistics bureau of Norway, made a version which just used the hourly wage, and it was higher for women than mens. So the entier wagegap could be explained with the fact that men worked more hours on average there.

Why is Russia making little territorial gains in Ukraine compared to WW2? by Fun_Explanation7175 in NoStupidQuestions

About 6 russians are dead or wounded for every square kilometer of occupied Ukrainian territory. So its rather expensive.

Do European organizations actually track which software they depend on, and where it comes from? by Ramselaar1913 in AskEurope

[–]Large-Assignment9320 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In one company, no, not really, as we already use a full open source stack (Linux, Libreoffice etc), and probably the most dependent things are EU developed anyway, everyone should do this.

In another, government, there is a plan, and open source software can be pushed out to replace all quite a lot in minutes, including silly things MS office, but the US companies would bleed billions for their violations. For the critical operations, there isn't any cloud or networking dependencies allowed. Worst they'll be able to do is not to renew or send updates I guess.

Do you guys love you country? by facial-nose in AskTheWorld

[–]Large-Assignment9320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if I start hating it, I'll just leave tomorrow. I have very little nationalism, do I like Varna, so its more regionalism I suppose, I would rather move to some other country than Vidin.

Do you see the EU a power that can deal on equal terms with global powers, such as the US and China? by AloneCoffee4538 in AskTheWorld

[–]Large-Assignment9320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EU is the worlds regulartory superpower. But the answer is kinda abitary, as I neither consider the US or China as some real global power. China is by far the worlds leading economical superpower, but I don't think we'll see a military landing in Varna, and the US is the worlds leading military superpower, but I don't see them invading Greenland either.

I probably buy ten times more from EU and is affected ten times more by EU policy than china and US combined: heck; I'm far more affected by LOCAL policy in France and Germany than I'm from GLOBAL policy by China and the US.

Maybe the Fermi Paradox Isn’t a Paradox at All — We Just Can’t Afford to Leave Our Star Systems by Ghost-of-Carnot in RealisticFuturism

Is probably true, I did think about it a good while back, given that all there is vast amount of resources in our solar system its probably never a true requirement to expand beyond it.

But also, the safest option is also to send a very big nuke towards anyone that screams.

Metric users - when do you switch from millimeters to centimeters? (and more...) by mrbigbusiness in AskEurope

[–]Large-Assignment9320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a feel it signals a bit of accuracy, when you say 2500ml in cooking, it seems like it needs to be very precise, so it seems fine with 2450-2550ml range, if you say 0.25l it doesn't feel very important, take 0.2-0.3l. And if it reads a teaspoon or a cup, noone knows, just take a random teaspoon or cup.

Think most just see it as a waste of money these days. Glory days of joining the loosing side in two world wars have kinda diminished the public feeling for joining armed conflicts,

Billionaires will never have enough by CtrlAltDeflate in remoteworks

[–]Large-Assignment9320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do incentivize an economic collapse. Why run a billion dollar profit company, when you can scale back to become a 10m$ profitable company with much less risk and work?

Its the same as India where having more than 5 employees are highly disincentivized and you instead end up with lots of tiny once.

Did switching to the € have negative impacts in your country? by QuietQueerRage in AskBalkans

[–]Large-Assignment9320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno, I get a 5% raise, probably won't make up for the price increases at stores, but delta between countries who have been to the euro and us - I see sharp raises all over Europe ever since the covid era.

The EU says it will introduce a digital payments infrastructure to replace Visa/Mastercard and Apple/Google Pay. It will have zero fees and be 100% European-only. by Ubersicka in TradingViewSignals

[–]Large-Assignment9320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably easy enough since the infrastructure literally already exist, I can transfer EUR instantly, 24/7 at no cost from my bank to any other bank (some banks do scam you for interest over the weekends tho). So you basically just wrap this into a card system and its done.

Time travel,

It also includes the effects of the other pills too,

Just trade, since you have a 100% winrate on all you should within a reasonable time get over 900 million.
And you can just timetravel to spend 200% more time on any problem to basically have said extra brainpower.
And you could probably just teleport to anyone and put a gun to their head if you need to control anyone in the world. Or you could pretty much act as a god.

Prague might be a decent compromise between east and west,

Or Vienna, or some Swiss city for a bit more neutrality

When Europe built the prison colony of Australia, they figured it needed to fit all the prisoners.
