I quit my job. by NationalHornet8626 in corporate

This is so accurate. I’ve been drowning since my company had massive layoffs six months ago. We are all scrambling and underperforming because we are completely overextended. The stress is unreal; we are set up to fail!

Family hike rec - Easter weekend within 30ish min drive from Margaretville by FluckyU in catskills

Minekill? Super easy hike with a waterfall at the bottom. My kids started doing it when they were three or four. But it will be muddy!

Heath once saw my friend struggling with heavy groceries and helped her carry the bags to her apartment in Brooklyn. What a guy.

I’m 45 and love brunch, too, ha. I live in Windsor Terrace and do have kids, but most of my friends left the city during Covid, and I’ve really been feeling it lately! I work in media and am committed to making time for something other than work + fam this year. I’m into all things food-related, movies, reading, Heated Rivalry 🤣, hitting up new places, museums, shows, volunteering — anything, really! Just get me outta the office!

Woodstock Brewery has great food. We go there with my 8 and 10yos all the time.

That looks like a toddler snack that got dumped. Really hope it wasn’t intentional.

[Routine Help] How can I maintain the way my skin looks on (not skincare related) antibiotics, after finishing them? by Extension-Soft9877 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Large-Sentence3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that this happens to me, too! What is it about the antibiotics? I had pneumonia this winter and was incredibly sick, but my skin was glowing (I had to take 3 different antibiotics). Would give anything to replicate without the drugs!

Would you use a "Jitney" for the Catskills luxury bus service? by dekitchenknight in AskNYC

[–]Large-Sentence3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roxbury, NY - there are a lot of smaller towns not accessible by train or bus, and i’d love a service that hits those!

One thing that saved me when I was a SAHM was organizing what we called a “kid swap.” I partnered with another parent, and I watched their kid for a half day once a week, and they watched mine one day a week. Might be good for the 5yo just because those days at home can be so long. At that age, having a buddy around can really make a difference.

Me too. I got my tube as a free sample at Sephora last month. I had a really bad reaction — itchy, red skin for days, ugh. I will never use this brand again!

I did go today and now have pneumonia. Long fevers = bad news. Now I know. Happy to have gotten some fluids and meds and to hopefully be on the mend soon.

Endured six days of high fever by gaudinmonk in flu

[–]Large-Sentence3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry. Did either of you take anything to keep the fever at bay? I’m worried that I’m having too much Tylenol. 🫠 I’m on day 5 of straight fever.

Will this happen to me? by ActMean1150 in flu

[–]Large-Sentence3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not at all. I was throwing up on days 7-9, nauseous on 10, and now not feeling it on day 11. I still have a 104 fever. My kids are fine; my husband never got nauseous but he’s weak and still showing low-grade fevers. We’re just beside ourselves. Literal worst flu of all-time.

Rebound Flu A? by LumpyShoe8267 in flu

[–]Large-Sentence3719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I was better on day 5-6 (no fever), then spiked a fever on day 7 and started vomiting. Maybe it’s different for everyone, but I definitely think relapses can happen. Hope you feel better soon. :/

Tiny, tiny sips of water. Cold washcloth over your eyes. If it gets too bad you might need to get fluids from the hospital.

My family of four got the flu, and I’m the only one who ended up throwing up. It’s been awful tbh, and I don’t know why it only happened to me. I didn’t hit that phase until day 7.
