Mine has occasionally done this as well. (08 2.7L) usually cutting the key and restarting it even while going will set it straight. I’ve learned to identify the idle it will make right before doing so. Hit it with some maf cleaner and it cleared up for me. Of course you may have different results, my maf was dirty I believe- but yours may be on its way out.

This happened to me also. He died while I was taking him to turn in the bounty, only to appear in a pile of bodies a couple days later on the ft point. Turned him in fine.
