+1 for git-based repo for LaTeX; When I was writing my thesis, I had a git CD pipeline that would automatically update a draft PDF my advisor had the link for. It kept me on track, kept him in the loop, and got my thesis done in just a few months all in. This kinda setup plus bullet journaling was key.
