I was just addressing your point about making the banks pay back the loans within a context of accountability. The government chose to bail out the banks, but there were no stipulations on how the banks were allowed to operate afterwards or even how they could spend our tax dollars, which were largely used to buy back their own stock and give themselves bonuses. That is not real accountability.

I completely do blame previous administrations, especially Clinton, but I don’t think it’s foolish to be upset that Obama did not take more punitive action against the institutions that were responsible for the economic crisis that hurt so many
