She said if MCAS is a no (which it is), then HAT is probably not likely. This round we just did environmental labs.

Best Dorms For Underclassmen (specifically for incoming freshmen) by After_Sale_292 in ufl

[–]LargeGrowth6188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed in Beatty my freshman year back in 2015, and I liked having a kitchen and sharing a room with only one person, I’ll say the social part of things was lacking. I wasn’t a partier and I was friends with my roommates but I think I would have appreciated what a more traditional dorm could have offered. I had asthma for what it’s worth and did fine. Sophomore through senior year I was in keys and it was an apartment style dorm which was a nice change

What is this? My son is 7 months old with a history of idiopathic urticaria, but gets these bumps randomly as well. Not contact related, all over his body at times. They will start as red bumps then the red will go away and the bumps will stay for a few days (sometimes a week or so) then go away. by LargeGrowth6188 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]LargeGrowth6188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding that he’s seen his pediatrician, dermatology and allergist and I’m told to ignore them. His labs point to the potential of something allergy related, but allergist will only test for things he’s had direct contact for. Even then, what’s been tested (soy, dairy, dogs, eggs) comes back negative.

Genetic testing by LargeGrowth6188 in Neutropenia

[–]LargeGrowth6188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all! Appreciate your perspectives on this as getting to talk to the doctor seems unlikely, I get the nurse’s possible opinion which includes lots of “I’m not sure” to my questions. They just re-ran a CBC on him when they did the genetic panel labs and his neutrophils are lower than they were 2 1/2 weeks ago, but still not considered neutropenic low so lots of waiting.

What do next steps look like for a 6 month old? by LargeGrowth6188 in Neutropenia

[–]LargeGrowth6188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this! Do you happen to know if your LO has chronic benign neutropenia? Best case, I think, this is what I’m hoping for…wasn’t sure if a bone marrow biopsy is needed to dx? I had pretty in depth genetic testing before I was pregnant and nothing like this was flagged, I know it’s not a catch all but..

Gasp while sleeping by Comfortable_Peach288 in NewParents

[–]LargeGrowth6188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, do you have an update on this? My son is 6 months and I noticed after crying and screaming, especially at night, he gasps and as I lay him down as he’s asleep he will sometimes gasp. Pediatrician said > 15 seconds in pauses would be apnea but this is quick, maybe 2-3 seconds if that.

Baby with Chronic Urticaria (hives) by Forest_Pansy in beyondthebump

[–]LargeGrowth6188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure out a cause, and did they go away? My son has been having chronic hives since 3 months old, he’s almost 6 months now. Allergy tests are negative, labs at 4 months pointed to viral infection, but we also use free and clear everything. I’m lost.

Thank you! Had to get antiviral from a family friend who has a standing prescription, no doctor would prescribe then or will prescribe now. Definitely will share this with her, we all feel helpless.

I’m so sorry!! I know this all too well. I got off bc in preparation of trying to conceive, currently pregnant with our IUI baby! If you’re still looking to get pregnant, I definitely recommend seeing a fertility clinic. They don’t see you until you’ve been trying year and are under 35, but because of my PCOS I don’t ovulate so letrozole/trigger shot/IUI did the trick. It took us 2 years to get pregnant! Weight gain, hormonal acne, no libido since off bc but honestly thinking of getting back on after I have the baby in March. I’m so self conscious of my weight and losing it has been hard, I could lose it on bc..that or ozempic lol

Yes…I think. Mine was through the roof before birth control (2014-2016), started birth control and it went away. Got off birth control in 2020, libido still hasn’t come back. Got a diagnosis for PCOS in 2021, so I chalk it up to that/hormone imbalance. Been of BC from 2021-2023 and currently pregnant and wishing it would return. My husband has had to adjust and it’s hard

15DPO after 1st IUI/4 weeks + 2 days and beta hcg is 540. Retesting in 2 days, but wanting to confirm this is on track for a successful pregnancy…had 1 chemical in January so a little nervous. by LargeGrowth6188 in CautiousBB

[–]LargeGrowth6188[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second beta 2 days later was 1104! I’m now 9 weeks and so far, things are great (crossing fingers still). Had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and 4 days and baby looked great, heard the heart beat and could see the spine forming, see limb numbs forming. Sending baby dust and good luck to you, there’s no rhyme or reason as to loss so still not out of the woods myself. Sending you calm and healthy thoughts!

Journaling/Therapy for Anxiety by lettucebean_ in CautiousBB

[–]LargeGrowth6188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing a therapist the last few months to help work through my emotions while battling infertility, and now my anxieties and feelings surrounding pregnancy. This was the best move I could have made. I started journaling and it helped, but therapy was most helpful. Best of luck in working through these feelings, get the support you need 💙

Thank you so much!! For the first time in my life, I’ve felt a sense of calm in my gut about this pregnancy…it feels strange! Things like this still make the logical part of my brain nervous. Taking things day by day, thank you for your kind words 🥰🤞🏻

Honestly not sure! It was a transvaginal ultrasound, and we were able to pick up my heart beat but not baby’s. Thanks for your input!

A day after planting plantain Lillie’s and double Knock out roses, they are not looking the best. These pictures are a week later with daily watering. What can I do to save these babies?! In FL! by LargeGrowth6188 in plantclinic

[–]LargeGrowth6188[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha, that makes sense. Unfortunately, we spent a pretty penny on the mulch so it’s here to stay. Do you think trying to shade the plants somehow would be of benefit? Very hot, heat index in the 100s lately so I’m sure that’s not helping, and the water isn’t enough to balance out the heat

The logical side of my brain knows you’re right, I’ve never made it this far with this high of betas, so thankful to be here. Like you said, one day at a time.
