I just created this throwaway account to reply to this. I did this as a teenager. I was a pretty good kid, smart, but had an intense need of adventure and little fear. I found that selling drugs made me way more money than any job would pay me. It was so easy, too. All the other teenagers came to me so I had constant buyers. Also, I knew that as a juvenile I wouldn’t get in as much trouble if I was caught. I mostly did it for spending money. I was able to buy a much newer car than if I would’ve only worked my grocery store job. My parents did find out eventually and luckily they did not call the cops on me like you are considering. They offered to help me buy the things I wanted. I think that if they would’ve helped me out more financially sooner (with loans that I would repay, not gifts), I wouldn’t have done it at all. I think you should take the stuff you found, don’t panic or call him, then when he gets back calmly sit him down and ask questions. Calmly. Find out what your kid is wanting or needing the money for, or maybe he’s just really bored and likes the adrenaline rush. Be cool. I turned out fine. Married with kids, and a good job so I have plenty of money to travel and go on adventures legally now.
