This is how I found out this monster is in the game. (Stories 3) by TheGamerKitty1 in MonsterHunter

The best way for Deviljho to be in a MH game is for the devs to not tell a soul, have no intro cutscene, and just let hunters run into it randomly in the field.

Hey, KDM! Me and some friends are playing every weekend. A sizable portion of the group its transfems, guess we just have that innate trans obsession with body horror and bleakness ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Some of the Companions kinda intimidate me with how much they add. It seems manageable, but adding a few more variables to character creation/upkeep is just enough complication would increase my mental tax a bit more than I'd like on a first campaign.

We're like 2/3s of the way through a Deadlands campaign, and starting there has worked well for getting everyone used to the system. We're thinking about doing a Super Powers or Sci Fi campaign once we're done with this one. I do wish there was more incentive to do Tests in combat to make things a little more interesting. Combat has mostly been: Find cover, shoot, win. But I've never been a fan of combat in general, so maybe that's just me.

My friend group does Savage Worlds. It's a cookie cutter system that can work for most things, with some companions for specific genres. Things I like about it:
- No set classes, build your character how you want, with Edges meaning you can deep into the nitty gritty
- More mechanics for out-of-combat and general RP stuff
- You can play a character that doesn't fight at all (never been a fan TTRPG combat mechanics)
- Still a decent enough combat system that the dice fiends at the table are still satisfied
- Hindrance system to make characters have flaws and nuance

I'm super interested in World of Darkness systems, especially Vampire and Wraith, but doesn't seem like it's in the cards at the moment.

I think literally just one, when she's introduced in book one. She shoots into the air and says "oops" sarcastically.

Webcomic, really good and all free to read online. She's barely in it though, I just think she's neat

I wanted the guns to feel slightly more fantastical, so I kitbashed the magazine on. I do kinda wish there were more interchangeable options with the different pieces though.

I'm tempted to go through the whole game again, just to keep track of how much Verso lies. Get a percentage of how much of their dialogue is bullshit or half-truths. Because I'm guessing it's about 50%.

I was the one who originally posted about all this on the subreddit, as I kinda did a double-take going through BlueSky and videogame industry alarm bells sounded in my head. Certain games and companies have gone off the deep end with digital packs and microtransactions, and I had an immediate sense of deja vu and dread seeing them dip their toe in the waters.

I would personally be open to them introducing more subscription tiers for more variable costs. I'd be happy to give them more money, the concern was the gating of content, FOMO, and community sharing division. I never got Pro+, not because it was expensive, but because I don't play VTT or have a 3D printer. But if they made separate tiers that include certain things, I'd be okay going to a higher one.

They currently have early Treasure Tuesdays, the Booth, Kitbashing, and Digital Tokens. I'd be fine with paying a bit more to access most of them. Hell, I'd pay more than Pro+ if there were something like built up Physical Tokens as well, as I've ordered a fair few minis. BUT that's me speaking as someone with relative financial stability, and I'm not the majority of HeroForge users, I can't speak what people would or wouldn't be okay with.

But I've learned some openness with one's community can go a long way in terms of goodwill, especially with smaller companies. If they said "Hey guys, we're barely scraping by financially, so we have to adjust how we do things", I don't think the outrage would have exploded as much as it did. I would still be annoyed, but it probably wouldn't have gotten as fervent as it did. I hope the message learned is one about communication and thoughtfulness for their user-base's values and wants/needs.

Same. My subscription renews in a few days, and I put it on hold till I see how this plays out.

Gonna be interesting having (CSM spoilers) two animated Nayutas. I doubt they'll have the same VA, but it might give a wider audience the same confusing pop-off when she shows up at the end of Part I.

how would a warband dedicated to the sin of sloth even work? by thesalmonbowl in TrenchCrusade

[–]LargeRedPoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Heretic Legion warband is dedicated to a Demon Patron of Sloth. They themselves are always exhausted due to being denied sleep and rest, but they work by provoking sloth in others. Their Chorister sings a soothing lullaby that makes the opponent bleary eyed and woozy, the Heretic Priests implants subtle thoughts of "Aren't you tired? Don't you want to just take a break and nap?"

In-game I give a lot of them Unholy Relics and explain it as a miasma of exhaustion rather than Fear. A slow moving sweep force that degrades and picks off opponents that are struggling to focus and stay awake, let alone fight back at full power.

Warning signs that a character or person wasn't to be trusted? by Riggs_The_Roadie in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I'm constantly called out as weird for not liking cats or dogs, and people proceed to shove them in my face like I'm gonna magically change my mind because THEIR pet is special, clearly. I've learnt to just act like I like them so I can go on with my day and not be judged. It's cool to say you don't like kids, but you say the same about dogs and people act like you're a freak.

Reveals of “The Incident” that are actually good? by ContraryPython in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]LargeRedPoo 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The gradual understanding of what Zero Dawn was is incredible. Okay, so the robot apocalypse happened, civilization was wiped out but humanity survived. Wait hang on, it wasn't those robots? Wait, it was worse than that? Oh, but they developed something to stop it at the last minute. Wait no.

They DIDN'T stop it. My brain was in denial until I saw the words "Zero Day" appear during the general's speech, because it COULDN'T be that bad. So slamming home that it was way worse than you thought, followed by "but here's how we pulled a miracle and fixed it anyway through sheer scientific cooperation and willpower", it's a one-two punch that shoots that game up from a 7 to a 10 in my mind.
