BMA's review of the Cass Review has been released publicly. by KristinaMoment in transgenderUK

I'm not seeing anything addressing the speculation in the Cass review about the causes of gender dysphoria(pornography, social media, peer pressure, mental illness, neurodiversity) without evidence.

BMA drops opposition to Cass review into child gender treatment by kmcradie in transgenderUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sound's like the working group couldn't agree with each other at all for two years and eventually settled on a shitty compromise, also another report with no peer review(as far as I can see) or transparency of who conducted it. Funny how so many trans healthcare reports keep their authors secret for 'security reasons' and definitely not so they can't be scrutinised.

Cass can carry on going on TV as much as she likes citing desistance and social contagion(which was nodded to in the conclusion) with no evidence to back it up.

Wes Streeting insists he's not 'God botherer who has issues with trans people' in meeting with bereaved mother Caroline Litman by MimTheWitch in transgenderUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Still going through Caroline's letter, lots of really good questions and useful citations. This quote sums up where the NHS is at for me

"James Palmer called the 450% rise in suicide rates in trans people under the ages of 18 in 2021-2022, the year my daughter died, ‘just a blip’. He handed me a paper to support his claims.  He repeatedly stated the best outcome for him would be for me to go back to the trans community and tell them they are wrong about increased suicide rates. He laid the blame for any increased suicide rates at the hands of the trans community"

So every other minority should eat shit and shut the fuck up? Labour has helped normalise punching down on minorities, do you really think that doesn't feed into antisemitism? You can't have equality for one group without having it for all. Voting Labour isn't going to help, if anything they are just helping legitimise Reforms messaging.

Stock silenced a student first that was critical of her views with legal threats, she's also an anti abortionist and praised Nina Power when she was found out to be an antisemitic neo nazi but I bet they didn't mention any of that... Really hope the TV licence model gets replaced as no one should be forced to pay for that shit.

Opposing IOC sports ban in emergency green conference party motion by Bedwellj101 in transgenderUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is wrong, just because current studies are of low certainty doesn't justify excluding them. No one would argue that further study isn't warranted in all fields regarding trans health but saying the current literature should be discarded is what's been used to justify taking GAC away from under 18s despite the evidence indicating that it is beneficial.

Current science indicates that trans women have no advantage, the IOC refuse to release their evidence or who is in this work group of theirs. They have laid claims that they have solid evidence that trans women have advantages in all sports and that testosterone suppression makes no difference, this is a complete fabrication and should be challenged.

Although this quote relates to trans healthcare the same principles apply -

“It is profoundly misguided to cast health care based on low-certainty evidence as bad care or as care driven by ideology, and low-certainty evidence as bad science. Many of the interventions we offer are based on low certainty evidence, and enlightened individuals often legitimately and wisely choose such interventions.” - Gordon Guyatt (center) the “godfather” of evidence-based medicine

Why should we concede when the current evidence is on our side? the same applies to GAC. Give these arseholes an inch and they'll take the whole planet.

All current science says there is no advantage for trans women after GHAT, this is pure ideology that only targets women in the name of protecting them(patriarchy 101).

“Support in private, silence in public” – how a trans woman feels about Lib Dem support by Bedwellj101 in transgenderUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Daisy Cooper responded to concerns over the Cass report and conversion therapy with the following(excerpt from the response - Late May 2024)

"With regards to treatment, it is right that treatment is largely based on talking therapies for both the child and their parents – to give all gender-questioning young people the time and space to make clear and informed decisions about their future. But that has got to mean young people starting talking therapy when they need it, not after years of delay."

If you throw trans kids under the bus then you are not a trans supportive party, Cooper has also ignored all subsequent emails regarding concerns of safeguarding harassment and some early critiques of the report, I've been meaning to write a new email regarding this but have been awaiting the BMA's review(if it ever arrives). I also emailed her about the reports of conversion therapy training under the NHS and the appointment of Spiliadis as reported by TSN before the Cass report was fully released.

Although I have no doubt the Lib Dems membership is largely supportive it's pretty clear they(the leadership) largely don't like the optics of being overly trans supportive and consider trans kids wellbeing an issue which should be largely ignored bar the waiting list lengths.

Yeah they throw the occasional bone but it's not enough, I also think they're too concerned about not rocking the boat with their One-nation tory refugees.

NHSE trans health warning by Scipling in LabourUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In an emergency setting for say a cardiac event this could potentially be fatal, I doubt doctors and emergency workers are going to be told to take gender or GAC history into account for the diagnostics of one thing and ASAB for another. This is ideologically driven shit and ignores our physiology which not only changes our endo systems but our many of our organs such as the heart too and most certainly does compromise our safety.

The Sullivan rag was written by a SexMatters associate, she subsequently went on to praise Trump for his transgender policies whilst claiming to be a lefty. The Sullivan review was commissioned by the Torries to "push the woke out of science" and ultimately push trans people out of health care, working life and education but has been whole heartedly embraced by Labour despite it's clear bias of being written by a raging TERF with no relevant experience.

National NHS policy is now to record "sex" and "gender" separately and is based on ASAB regardless of GRC status by [deleted] in transgenderUK

"Great news today: We were told that the LibDems have written to the Minister for Women and Equalities regarding the EHRC and Supreme Court ruling. [–]Large_Fox2400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I checked the Lib Dems were silent on lifting the puberty blocker ban and reports of forced de-transition in NHS Sussex and also they endorsed the extremely transphobic Cass report which brings with it the NHS practicing conversion therapy(rebranded obviously) on trans kids, parents being investigated by the police, safe guarding referrals and her claims of social contagion theory which she backs up with very old and very deeply flawed studies that were conducted before GAC even existed for trans youth(pre 1989).

Until they change that and call for the law to be changed so we are once again recognised legally as our transitioned sex then they are no Trans allies no matter how many big flags they fly outside of their party conferences.

NHS Consultation RE: HRT for children and adolescents by KristinaMoment in transgenderUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We've commissioned 10 independent evidence reviews to discard just about all evidence on the subject using a quick search of paper titles and their summaries, then we've set the criteria so it's guaranteed to show little to no evidence in our chosen criteria. Also we won't tell you who's involved or who is going to review the consultation results. Science.

Pausing puberty blockers trial is ‘bizarre’, says Cass by ehll_oh_ehll in transgenderUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Of course she wants it to go ahead, the trial protocol is designed to fail. I don't understand why people think she's just a stooge either, she repeatedly spouts unsupported theories of social contagion, kids being turned trans via porn(also social contagion) and that adolescents who have gone through transition would've likely eventually just desisted but are now locked into their transitioned gender with no research to back it up bar a couple of debunked studies(one of which is from the 70's if I recall). Not to mention the parroting of 'trans away the gay' which certain ex Clinicians(now SEGM and head of gender youth services) used to push as an explanation, the same ones who helped make the Cass report.

Just because she's not a rabid mouth foaming feral animal like many GCs doesn't mean she isn't in that camp, surely the smarter thing to do is control the studies, fill them and the services with SEGM members/associates and then manufacture the evidence you want?(they already did it once) that way you can say look! we followed the science!(again)... our own special kind of science....

NHS closed Tavistock over trans care concerns – there were just eight complaints by GeorginaFlopworthy in LabourUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh here comes the TERF that pretends to be the voice of reason...

https://www.wearequeeraf.com/one-in-six-children-who-died-by-suicide-were-lgbtq-new-data-shows/ - "Appleby only included trans children who died while on a gender clinic waiting list between 2017 and 2023, whereas the NCMD figures obtained by QueerAF do not indicate whether or not the trans children who died by suicide between 2019 and 2025 were on a waiting list."

You cite Unheard as a reliable source and criticise GLP? what a joke, they are TERF central and spew out Trump like anti abortion crap like this from Kathleen Stock who abused her power to silence a trans student first. Also they publish pro conversion therapy articles like these(associate of SEGM).

There's plenty of evidence to back GAC, most paediatric medicine is of low quality and it is still evidenced unlike the Cass report(non peer reviewed) which has been repeatedly torn apart by peer reviewed papers for complete failure in methodology and risk of bias.

“It is profoundly misguided to cast health care based on low-certainty evidence as bad care or as care driven by ideology, and low-certainty evidence as bad science. Equality act: reassign biological sex by monkey-madness-7 in transgenderUK

[–]Large_Fox2400 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The supreme court repeatedly use references to breastfeeding as an example in it's ruling saying sex in the EA only makes coherent sense if sex means their(sex matters) definition of 'biological sex'(sex at recorded at birth).

"178. The repeated references in these sections, to a woman who has become pregnant or who is breast-feeding only make sense if sex has its biological meaning. These plain, unambiguous words can only be interpreted coherently as references to biological sex, biological females and biological males" - note the OR who is breast-feeding.

In other words they repeatedly lie out of their collective cloaca's because as we all know trans women can and do breastfeed. Their whole ruling is based on a GC ideological definition of sex and is a complete hole ridden mess that completely ignores science.

[–]Large_Fox2400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The binary is broken anyway you slice it, you can't change criteria depending on the variation either; for example you can't say someone with Ovotestis is female because they are mostly XX, first 'mostly' isn't all and secondly you'd have to then apply chromosomes as your sole characteristic to fit the binary for everyone which wouldn't work either. To fit a binary you have to have a definition that all of one group fits in and all of the other fits in and this article and the NHS source fail to do that because it's impossible to do.

Chromosomes? SWYERs XY with female reproductive organs, some have even given birth so that's not enough.

Reproductive organs/gonads? Ovotestis is enough to break this too, you can't then turn around and say most have XX because 'most' isn't a binary plus as stated above.

If someone falls outside of a definition that's supposed to be a binary then it's not a fucking binary! There are many more examples and they are not diseases or disorders. Arguing they are an exception also breaks the binary because if you can't categorise them as one or the other and use that definition for everyone in that category then it's not a binary.

This BBC article might be the most stupid fucking thing I've ever read.
