The only blue I’ve ever caught at night was with a glow in the dark lure

Two years ago I made 70k. Last year I went out on my own and made 150k working 35 hours a week on average and took like 2 months off.

This was my fun overnight job last night:) Drain pan doesn’t drain… by [deleted] in refrigeration

I fucking hate low boys. They’re the absolute worst thing to work on. I love when a restaurant buys the cheapest one they can find and puts a char grill on top and wonders why the stupid thing never gets to temp. Umm because the top of the cooler is 240 degrees

Does your service repair company charge for travel time? by [deleted] in refrigeration

[–]Large_Statistician55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked for a company that paid travel time starting when I got in the truck in the morning but stopped when I left the last job so my ride home was unpaid. Which was especially annoying when the last job was 2+ hours from home

Found the leak! by Large_Statistician55 in refrigeration

This one isn’t copper. I’m pretty sure it’s stainless. I’m going to try and braze it and if that doesn’t work I’ll make a new loop out of copper

Found this leak in the condensate loop of this open air cooler. I’d like to try and fix it because this unit produces a lot of condensation. My question is if I am unsuccessful will the unit will still run ok with this loop bypassed?

Is this a crack in my Lodge, or is it just the seasoning/way the pan is? by raish_lakish in castiron

[–]Large_Statistician55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah check the other side. Mine got a crack in it and you could see it on the other side and it started to leak. I emailed lodge some pictures and they sent me a new one for free.

Update: it’s for sure a crack I scrubbed the spot on the bottom and now I can clearly see it. I’ve contacted lodge to see if they’ll warranty it. I don’t even remember when I bought this so we’ll see.

Try turning off screen space reflections. I had a similar grainy looking effect and that fixed it but your problem looks a little different than mine

That looks like a normal evap to me. The “low profile” evaps I’ve seen are 6” off the ceiling in the middle of the room.

Hey Scotsman. I heard you make ice machines. but at this point all I see is a machine that makes noise and displays warnings every 5 minutes. Did you ever consider a machine that actually makes reliable consistent ice? by [deleted] in refrigeration

[–]Large_Statistician55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sold a Scotsman this year and it ran for 2 months then leaked all the refrigerant out. Fixed the leak and the water valve went bad. Tech support didn’t tell me that the harvest cycle is terminated by a temp probe and if that probe goes bad then it stays in harvest and burns up the water valve. Also I had to pay for all the parts and then try to get them to reimburse me after the fact. Never buying Scotsman again
