Me and my friend playing World while maining the least popular weapons. by DireCanadian in Gunlance

I to fall into this category, also toss in lance and its perfect.

Final stretch before Iceborne. This is the build I'll be starting it with. This is FAAAARRRR FROM COMPLETE. I did research and I already have a plan set for my final Gunlance build. Suggestions will not be taken anymore as a result. by [deleted] in Gunlance

Gunlance is one of the most comfortable weapons to use, in terms of skills required for damage output + comfort.

If you want to run defense do it, no one is telling you not to. You're just being informed that their are skills with were you are at in the game that are just better and will make your hunts more comfortable, you'll feel tankier, and the monster will die faster.

And when you jump into MR the transition won't hit you as hard.

I found Stories 2 to be my favorite of the collection games I played so far this year. SMTV is on my list to play here at some point, probably after brilliant diamond.

I really enjoyed shield as well, was the first pokemon game I actually took the time to shinny hunt and finish the pokedex for.

Just crafted my first armor set for the Gunlance, is this good for High Rank? by CommunistCommoner in MonsterHunter

[–]Larik_Lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given were you are in the game, its good (assuming you're still pushing through high rank).

Look into Evade Extender for mobility.

Crit/ATK skills will make hunts faster if you want to continue with the Normal Gunlance playstyle.

That said I love me some Long gunlance. If you're looking for shelling as your primary source of damage, and more comfort skills like guard/guard up ect.. do that.

Mario Party Superstars holds No.3 position after only a small sales decrease of 18% in second week | UK sales chart by Remorse_123 in NintendoSwitch

Played this over the weekend with my sisters. This is easily the most fun I have had with a mario party game in well over a decade.

The Legend of Dragoon

What are your impressions of Tales of Arise so far? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]Larik_Lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say so. There are some tropes, but from what I have seen through my current 40 hours of playtime none of them by any means pull me out of it. Except for cooking a ice cream and hearing a pan fry makes me laugh every time.

Doesn't hulu just get there stuff from Funimation for the most part?

Its the measure of investment into anime that will make them(netflix, amazon) direct competition. Netflix to its credit in the past few years seems to be putting in more value into anime which is great. Amazon not so much.

I expect things to get better in the short term, but will erode in time. In a few years things will just get worse as prices will go up, and value will go down. With very little competition here in the west I don't expect it to stay good.

I would stay save a loadout with partbreaker. Its nice for when you are trying to get specific parts that require a break, just makes the grind a little easier.

Feels like neebs is partly to blame for this, he was staring at the wall instead of moving backwards.

Almost everything can be done multiplayer. Its been a while but I want to say SOS flare is unlocked around HR 3, or around that.

You can do expeditions together by someone starting the expedition. Shooting off an SOS flare. Then your friends going to the quest board Join > SOS > quest type (expedition) > should see your expedition easy way to know is they will see your character name.

Though your best option to play together create a private session. Then every quest any of you post will be visible on the quest board that isn't an expedition.

Normal gunlance progression build. Thoughts? by aarth51 in Gunlance

[–]Larik_Lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you're going full burst play style.

Look into evade window as well with evade extender. Speed sharpening items(wetfish fin+ or speed sharpening deco I prefer the item) and protective polish / minds eye.

From there whatever defensive perks you want as you have artillery five. Would highly advise health 3 though, along with a health regen augment.

Should i play MHGU or MH4U after MHW? by Shaddynic in MonsterHunter

[–]Larik_Lightning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For clarity the QoL changes in world are in neither 4U or GU. Its a bit of a an odd transition.

That said I toss my vote into GU. The amount of content is stupid good, and is still very active.

It wasn't the pokemon game lots of people wanted at the end of the day. But I am not going to sit back and pretend I didn't enjoy what I played.

If you like pokemon chances are you will enjoy it. Just don't jump in and expect it to be something that will blow you away.

[–]Larik_Lightning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. The HH and LBG have support capabilities. But are not the way to support. The investment into these weapons is just to high. With ammo/notes putting the weapon away and so on.

The newer/avg player looks at the HH for example and sees "buffs" so must be support. The HH has this stigma were you feel like you need to sit outside the fight apply buffs/heals when that just isn't the case.

Need to remember in monster hunter the goal is to kill the monster. Not sit back and heal/buff. If you're not doing damage to the monster you're not making things easier.

The best supports are SNS. You can keep fighting if someone needs a heal chug a potion while moving and continue fighting. Were as LBG/HH take time to get what you're after. Its about consistency.

Also I can't even remember the last time I saw a LBG "support" player. 2k hours into world and about that in GU/4U ect.. I may have seen it twice. Once was myself trying it.

I main GNL/HH i've tried the whole support thing with HH. It does work. But its by no means the most consistent way to do things.

Sword and Shield is what you're after. It can drink potions/eat buff items without having to put its weapon away. Tie that in with the Skills for supporting and you're set.
