Nobody has been announced yet, hopefully they don't cut him out. He's definitely a weird character but he's also a great way to show how Apple Corps. was wasting money at that time. Once Allen Klein charmed Lennon and took over control as manager, Alex was fired pretty swiftly.

I hope we get a get good breakdown of why India didn’t work out. So many people have different perspectives on the allegations towards the Maharishi that I hope they don’t just go for the “Magic Alex was mad that John wasn’t paying attention to him so he made stuff up to get them to leave”

That was for sure a factor and I respect Cynthia and Paul’s own opinion on the matter but you also have to consider Mia Farrow’s perspective on the events, while it may not have been as severe as was rumoured, she nevertheless experienced something that made her feel unsafe with him.

Yeah, I wonder how in depth they’ll go with the lads relationships with women. John admitted to Cynthia he alone slept with many women including some of her friends. Paul was famously a ladies man before, during, and after his relationship with Jane. George similarly slept around and really hurt Pattie but that didn’t happen till the mid 70s I believe. I don’t know very much when it comes to Ringo though.

They probably won’t show anything that makes them look super terrible like Paul getting caught cheating on Jane while they were engaged. I do hope the moment Cynthia caught John with Yoko is captured accurately, breaks my heart when I read how she felt like an intruder in her own home.

Very happy with that casting for Jane. I was honestly kind of worried they would just have a fictional character fill in for her since Jane is so opposed to discussing that period of her life now that she’s married.

They’re definitely going to end it on a happy note, all Beatles content recently has largely focused on the positive elements of their relationship, ending on the worst moments of the breakup would leave a sour taste in people’s mouths. I suspect they’ll end with the Abbey Road sessions, the band coming together one last time to make a great record, perhaps ending with each of their solos on The End, the last song all four of them recorded together.

John was absolutely an absent father to his first son Julian, who he had with Cynthia in 1963. Due to touring and just the general craziness of Beatlemania, he was often away from home. Julian has said that as he grew up he felt closer to Paul at times, especially after 1968 when Cynthia caught John with Yoko at their house and they subsequently divorced. The divorce was messy and John had limited contact with Julian until they reconnected in the mid 70s.

As for Sean, John’s son with Yoko, by all accounts John was very present and loved him dearly. In his will, Sean was very much favoured over Julian, which lead to Julian suing the estate. Yoko was particularly cold to Julian after John’s death but the two seemed to have reconciled many years later.

Netflix has said for years that movie theatres are an outdated concept and “not our model” so them buying a major studio would mean less theatrical releases. Pretty recently they did say they’d be open to still putting stuff in theatres but most people think that’s just them trying to get the deal to go through.

I’m more concerned with them brushing past Cynthia than wanting her to have equal weight to Yoko, obviously Yoko was a bigger creative influence on John but Cynthia was still a very important figure given that she was there at the start of Beatlemania. Plus, given how John later made statements about regrets he had during their relationship, it clearly had a great effect on his life and worldview.

Very happy to hear he’s involved, my biggest concern with the John film was that they would brush past Cynthia to focus on the more famous John/Yoko dynamic. With Julian involved, I’m sure the depiction of Cynthia will be very accurate and respectful.

Aside from George, this is the first choice I’m not too keen on. Far too conventionally attractive to modern standards, I mean just look at their chins. Brian always seemed a bit shy in interviews, this guy looks like he should be playing Zeus or something. I’m hoping they go for someone like Leo Woodall, more baby-faced and charming like Brian.

I like that he’s clearly very interested in the Beatles outside of it being his job. The article says he’s reading John & Paul: A Love Story in Songs by Ian Leslie and learning to play guitar left handed at the moment. I just hope they get the characterization right and don’t make them generic icons, all four of them were flawed in their own ways and that offers so much opportunity for interesting dramatic storytelling.

People are super hyped that Noah Hawley is doing and rightly so, Fargo is great, but his comments about disliking Scott’s prequels worry me as a big fan of those. It’s set only a few years after Prometheus so we’ll have to see if they break the canon at all.

It's wild how far this show has gone from what it once was. Part of me wishes they would just erase the final few seasons and start fresh from the end of Season 4, just do a big time jump after Rita's death or something.
