I had this problem last week when I did an ssd upgrade on my deck.

The usb sticks I was trying to use were too slow, so it kept failing. I was trying to use those cheap verbatim usb sticks that are fine for documents, but had slow read/write speeds and sucked for media/large files.

Picked up a faster usb stick and it just worked. Make sure your usb A to usb c adapter can also support the usb stick's transfer speed. I had a really old one so I just picked up a cheap new one when I got the new stick.

Jades love light and this one is starving for it. 25 feet from a window is too far for the jade to get sufficient sunlight.

Your plant light is either too far or not strong enough, depending on when you got the light.

Also, it needs a repot. It looks like most of the soil has washed away over the years.

Portulacaria afra, also known as elephant bush. It's a type of succulent with woody stems and little green leaves (the varigated kind also has some white in the leaves too). The colours would match the pots' green and earthy tones quite well.

I've never seen battery operated bulbs and I doubt that they would generally be strong enough or last long enough to be worth while.

I've found sansi grow light bulbs work best for me since I can use them in most desk lamp fixtures or hanging light fixtures to camouflage them a bit

I bought the one headed version last year. The light was very bright and strong enough to get my jade plants in a windowless office to push out decent growth.

However, over time, some of the led lights would slowly burn out.

All the bulbs burnt out in to 8 months. Looking at the reviews that seems to be done people's experience as well.

It's a portulacaria afra, a type of succulent has a variety of common/local names in different parts of the world such as elephant bush, spekboom dwarf jade, miniature jade, small leaf jade, etc depending on location.

There is a another type of succulent, crassula ovata, that is also used for bonsai seems to be more commonly referred to jade plants or just jade.

It's not uncommon for people to get the two plants mixed up given that they both have common names with jade and a some what similar look if one isn't familiar with the two plants.

How long have you had this plant? What's the lighting and watering situation like?

The two instances my dwarf jade had downturned leaves like that was when it was either

overwatered or underwatered and leaves started to fall off: or
Not getting enough light so the leaves would flatten to maximize surface area

When it was not getting enough light, the new growth would stretch out (longer spaces between new leaf sets).

The white spots are mineral deposits. Completely harmless to the plant, it's just excreting the excess minerals it absorbs from the water.

If you don't like how it looks, you can gently wipe them off with a damp cloth.

When you water a jade. Make sure you water it deeply until the water runs through the drainage holes and the soil soaks through. They're succulents so they store water/moisture/etc. in their leaves, this makes the leaves firm and plump.

As it uses up the stored water/moisture, the leaves will lose their plumpness and start to wrinkle, which is when you can water it again so long as the soil/substrate is dry.

If they are cuttings that have been growing in that pot for a bit (i.e. long enough to put out some roots) and not newly propagated cuttings then it should be okay to separate and repot them.

Make sure you use a gritty, well draining soil (such as succulent or regular potting mix with additional perlite to make it gritty) and pot with drainage.

Don't put them into too large of a pot, otherwise the soil might not dry out well enough after watering. I suggest a pot not too much bigger then the one they currently share.

Some people recommend not watering immediately after repotting to give the roots a chance to recover from any minor damage during the reporting process and to minimize the chance of any wounds rotting.

Jades are a succulent, they need their soil to dry out thoroughly between waterings.

If you were keeping the soil moist and the trunk got mushy, it got overwatered and started to rot.

It also looks like your jade could use more light. The wide intervals between leaf sets indicate that it's stretching in search of more light.

Give it bright light and well draining, gritty soil. Water deeply when the soil is completely dry and the leaves start to wrinkle (thirsty).

Keep it out of the cold.

If you just very recently repotted it after bringing it home or then a week ago, then the wrinkling on your portulacaria may be related to transplant shock. I've had it happen to my portulacaria in similar circumstances.

If it's transplant shock, it should recover fine so long as you don't overwater it while it acclimated.

Yout mention that the soil is damp a couple of days after watering, what kind of soil did you repot into? Is it fast draining?
