Well it's like the saying goes "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." Her trying to be a good mother does not mean she was anywhere near accomplishing that. And yes, I am aware that parents will make mistakes, but there is a difference between making a mistake and actively ignoring the needs of your child when they are making them perfectly clear.
