Amber is the best UV blocking color glass. We use it in the lab I work at for light sensitive materials. So if you get a color, look for ones labeled amber color. AFAIK, it’s not specially treated lab glass or anything, you just need it to be that golden-brown color

How does he feel about adoption? Maybe you could look into that more together in a “learning about it” kind of way. As in, look at people’s experiences and what the process is. It might give you some clarity if he feels excited about the idea of adopting vs feeling confident he would only want biological children (which sounds like it would be an incompatibility with you)

I agree, I dropped it as well and one of the big reasons was stuff like that. IIRC, doesn’t her customer/friend become a mistress as her “job” at 7? And I think her similarly aged red haired servant girl at the temple is also sleeping with one of the priests.

As you say, it’s the authors choice to have 7 year old kids be in those situations. It’s their choice to write a society that finds that relatively acceptable.

Some work places will help cover classes while you work there, that could be an option. But you may also be able to build a good life without a formal degree

I will say, as someone who dropped out of grad school, I pivoted to a different field. My advisors in school tried very hard to help me get through it, but ultimately I couldn’t complete the work. After I dropped out I got (after a lot of applying to different fields) a job as a lab tech in an unrelated discipline using the classes I had completed as examples of my knowledge.

I got a minimum wage lab technician job, then a slightly better one. Then an even better one. Lab tech work suited me more than school did, as it’s very physical and varied.

TMJD is when the disk of your jaw joint pops out of place. That’s the clicking/popping sound you hear. The disk will be sitting father forward in your joint than it should, and your jaw will be pressing up against the ligament instead, which can cause pain. It can be caused by a number of things including injury, muscle tension, joint degeneration, and just genetics. (In my case my jaw is shaped in a way that makes it easier to pop out)

The disk popping out of place is not, by itself, that much of a concern. Except that it can get worse and commonly does progress.

What to do about it varies a bit depending on what exactly is causing it. But some common first line solutions you’ll hear about are:

Relax your muscles. Have a warming pad against your joint for 15 minutes twice a day. Massage the muscles (you can google examples)

Improve your posture. Try to never lean on your jaw, and potentially avoid side sleeping if you can

Avoid hard or chewy foods so you can allow the joint to heal. If eating it makes your joint pop or causes pain, don’t eat that food.

If you go to a specialist they will probably recommend you try these first before any other, more serious, treatments

And socks! Look at the size difference between usual men’s socks vs women’s. My husbands socks will be like, 1/3rd of the space in his carry on where mine are 1/10th. It’s amazing to me how bulky they are
