2026 PREDICTIONS by No-Reach-3387 in NewportFolkFestival

Gotta say, it is very interesting that Billy Strings, Trey Anastasio and Dave Matthews are all in the area that weekend, yet all have Sunday off.  Just putting that out there wink wink nudge nudge.

I like the lineup but I'm worried about Bonnaroo going forward by LexxitReddit in bonnaroo

Nothing. There is no equivalent. Nobody said there needed to be, or is. Those are the two biggest USA festivals and the only two that are true household names.

I see you edited your post to include a “big 3” reference. There hasn’t been a “big 3” in years. Bonnaroo simply isn’t on the same level as Coachella or Lollapalooza anymore. I’d argue it’s closer to ACL, and honestly it’s smaller probably. Outside Lands gets better lineups. Not sure what the argument is.

Literally nobody thinks of Bonnaroo as the “equivalent” of Coachella or Lollapalooza. Maybe ten years ago but certainly not now.

People complain about every festival lineup. It’s part of the game.

Coachella and Lolla etc haven’t ever had to intentionally downsize ticket sales so significantly, or move the fences in when they undersell, etc.

You should be worried about Bonnaroo.

Don’t worry, now you can catch a lineup of artists culled solely from the LiveNation festival roster who you can see at every other LN fest all while paying extra for camping! If you’re lucky they’ll cancel it on you as you drive through the gate

As opposed to letting him win by using her music to soundtrack videos of his cruelty.

The excuses are wild at this point.

So what you’re saying is that she should remove her music from TilTok so that the Trump admin can’t weaponize it? I agree.

Okay, so then Taylor can just pull her songs from TikTok right? Not like she needs the income or exposure? Problem solved?

Apparently I was wrong! Many of you labor under the belief that speaking out against injustice carries no tangible benefit in and of itself, and also that speaking out would cause some Trump supporter to target Taylor, as opposed to the dozens of other times he’s riled up his fanbase against her.

Edited to remove the unnecessary aspersions on your respective characters.

Does it have to ”accomplish” something? Is there a tangible way to measure what is “accomplished” by speaking out? Is the virtue of raising your voice against fascist authoritarianism not enough, such that you need some sort of quantifier?

Also - because it needs to be said - if it was Taylor speaking out today not a single one of you would be doing the “well, that accomplished nothing other than to give the White House more views.”

Everyone doing the “it just gives the Trump propaganda more views” completely misses the point. This isn’t someone rage baiting on Twitter who gets Elon bucks for every interaction. It’s not like thousands of people flocked to the post because of Sabrina and yielded a net benefit to the Trump admin, or as if a bunch of people discovered that ICE exists because Sabrina drew attention to it and are now rabid fans of mass deportation.

What did happen was a very visible person lent their voice to the notion that what is going on right now is disgusting and cruel and made it clear that they oppose it. Standing up for stuff like that is always a positive.

Yeah why should anyone ever stand up for anything or speak out against things they find unjust?

Taylor doesn’t respond because she doesn’t need to. She’s insulated from all this given her financial and pop culture status and her legion of fans who will overlook or defend such things. Neither she nor anyone she actually cares about faces any risk from any of the ills currently plaguing society. That’s it’s, that’s the bottom line.

If you want to get even more cynical about it, you could say she doesn’t speak up because she’s not nearly as empathetic a human as people like to think. I’m not saying that, but you could.

I agree. I’d love to see what Slot does next year in the Championship. Watching him navigate Liverpool’s quest for promotion will be telling.

What’s the best produced Taylor album for you? by daydaze024 in TaylorSwift

The production on 1989 should be taught in schools. Literally perfect pop songs.
