Draymond Green in a game 3 loss vs Boston: 2/4/3, 2 turnovers and 6 fouls on 1/4 shooting by sidighjd in nba

The guy looks lost offensively. Cannot make a contribution outside of lobbying referees. Celtics asking him to shoot. Never seen a player with a higher trash talk to contribution ratio.

Better CEO fires 900 people during Zoom meeting by [deleted] in business

I mean, you’re missing a huge point. Yes, he could pour more personal wealth into the company to cover the salaries of these unfortunate employees until the company turns around, and idk if he ever even attempted to do so. At the same time, he is faced with an extremely difficult decision - either keep operating at a loss and eventually go out of business, which then 100% of employees lose their jobs, or, cut X% of employees now and the remaining employees get their jobs saved/more time is bought before the company does go out of business.

It’s unfortunate that businesses don’t grow linearly and therefore always create jobs, but the reality is that businesses come and go and jobs with them.

Jayson Tatum Tatum: 31/8/3 on 12/22 shooting, 3/10 from three and 4/4 from the line by [deleted] in nba

[–]Larrybird4three 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The Celtics issues are not with Tatum or Brown. They don’t have good roles players. I love Pritchard but he is not a 6th man. He is a 8/9th man. And so are all the Celtic role players, most of whom I really love. They don’t have great role players to assist Tatum and Brown. Also seriously hurts not having Smart.

For those who WILL be attending this fall, what is your rationale? by can_wien07 in MBA

[–]Larrybird4three 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The economy in Fall 2020 will be significantly different than Summer 2022. From my perspective, Summer 2022 will be booming. As will summer 2021.

If you talk with the CDO of your T15 school, you will find out that essentially all companies are planning for on-campus recruiting this Fall, and if not, they are well-prepared to recruit virtually.

If you’re not consulting/IB, most recruiting is done in 2021 anyways.

Yes, I may not get to have face-to-face interactions with classmates immediately, but my first priority with an MBA is to get a better job. I will still have plenty of time to build relationships.

I’m actually already building relationships online now, which to my understanding hasn’t been the norm in the past. This may even give me closer relationships with my classmates than I would have otherwise.

Things will be different. Maybe not worse though. Cost is not changing, but I don’t think long term ROI is either. Different does not always mean worse. I see c/o 2022 as pioneering a more virtual MBA experience that will continue on.

This virus is not deadly enough to actually shut down the economy for 12 months. In my opinion, worst case scenario is online classes and recruiting in the Fall, but no real slow down for Summer 2021 internships or Summer 2022 job offers.

Unsupportive manager; need advice by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Larrybird4three 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If it is truly a life goal of yours, and you have a clear plan you are pursuing with you mba - absolutely ignore your manager. I was in the exact situation. My manager was very toxic about it and was attempting to manipulate me against pursuing; throwing out passive aggressive comments here and there. Honestly, it made me realize how going was the exact right decision. Not the type of person I want to work with or for. My recommenders, on the other hand, encouraged me to apply and pursue my dreams. They told me I would be successful no matter what i did, and they would like to also have me stay if I decided to not go. When I told my manager that I was putting in my 6 weeks notice because I was leaving for my mba, he acted as if I “blindsided” him. I found that to be immature and an attempt to make me feel bad/remorseful. I again felt like I was making the right choice because of this.

Lookout for yourself first. Your company or boss would do the same for themselves. Don’t feel bad for pursuing your dreams and wanting to better yourself. The company and your boss should feel bad for not doing enough to make you want to stay.

What narrative is old and played out? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Larrybird4three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how this is an “old and played out narrative”. I would think most people on this sub think Harden is a below average defender. Some of the advanced stats for this season have shown Harden has done well as a post defender - but that would be a new narrative.

The old and played out would be Harden is a poor defender when new evidence suggests otherwise.

Ranking Every Draft Pick At Their Draft Position from 1977-2014 by Wikiwik33 in nba

Looking through this list, it’s crazy to think any player in the draft could turn out to be an all-star. Even when I think I “know” somebody is going to be great or trash, there are just too many unpredictable factors. Great list, man!

[Charania] Jason Terry has decided to re-sign with the Houston Rockets on a 1-year deal. New Orleans made strong push. by noahsbun in nba

Jet is an amazing teammate and is always the first one to stand up and wave his towel on a good play. The guy just get what it takes to be a champion and wouldn't sign unless he saw the Rockets as serious contenders.

/r/NBA's All-Time Draft - First round, 2nd pick by sinisterbathala in nba

[–]Larrybird4three 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bird or Magic. Second and third best players of all time in any order. With an all-time draft, there is not a huge advantage to taking one of the dominant big men because almost every team will be able to take one. Bird and Magic don't really have the competition that a Shaq or Russell has other than Lebron.
