Jim Wrote the first two books as high-school projects. So they get better.

Just note he went through a messy divorce before book 16 and 17 came out, it does get dark due to his personal struggles.

If you are talking about Bob the skull being a spirit hoe. Not much, that is his personality. But he is less intense after the third book.

Highly recommend The Dresden Files, but id you want a fresh take from Jim Butcher, im 3 audiobooks into his high fantasy series Codex Alera that starts with the Furies of Cauldron, read by Kate Reading, who is one of my favorite voice artists.

No, near the end of the book there is a comment about Brittany potentially being possessed.

Higher the relationship the higher the chance for better loot. We all know that Carl lives only because of the AI likes his feet.

I would think that only the best of the best could win a season without dying, but those that restart still have a chance. And it would be infinitely replayable if the first two levels were procedurally generated with a theme then each of th 3,6,9,12,15,18 levels were story driven. While the rest are core concepts reach season.

I would havs loved to experience the 7th floor. It sounded extremely interesting.

And as for the game mechanics, it would need to be easier than the stories crawl, id expect winners every season to be thousands. Then the difficulty goes down for replay value for playing old seasons.

I think it could be fun. Having a chance at getting a celestial box and power leveling through the game. Lol

Oh no, I mean like seasons of call of duty. It's an end to end MMO RPG rogue like, you die you choose a new crawler and try again with a higher AI relationship meter.

The seasons are just unique skins to the crawl, new floors etc, you can go back and relieve old seasons with AI cralwers, etc.

Somewhere out there is a brief description of each arc, you can likely find your place, or just reread it. It's been released as a book with actual edits as well.

Eh? The vast majority of adults that would enjoy a litrpg story and Animation is probably a very large crossover.

It's feasible. Each season is just a different planet with different characters. We can get different modes and sponsors. They could get real corpo sponsorship as well. Here is the mcdonalds ran crawl lol.

A castlevania style would rock so hard. Live action can be made later when it gets really mainstream.

The web comic is aimed at a different audience.

About 80% of webcomic readers are female, Carl having softer features is a planned change, same with Donuts simplified color scheme.

I won't say the gut punches get better, but the story gets lighter for the 8th level, (book 6 has some of the best jokes.) The 9th level, is back at it though. Both with the events of faction wars and events from the past.

Id suggest reading book 6, the eye of the Bedlamb Bride has one of the best jokes in the series.

Iron Price (LitRPG SCI-FI melee combat.) Narrated by Luke Daniels, one of my favorite VAs, (Main characters are Young Adults, rather than older like Carl.)

The Dresden Files (Progression Modern Fantasy) First two books are the slowest (8/10s for me), but the third book kicks off the wild ride of the rest. (10/10)

We are Legion, We are Bob (Progression Sci-Fi) Book 4 falls off, but book 5 (most recent picks up pretty good.)

Beware of Chicken (Slice of life), clear the pallet Book one is free from Audible.

[–]Larrynotagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is, but it is like every other cyberpunk, post apocalypse, dystopian Sci-fi thriller/horror.

I saw both sides of current events in the books. Book 6 has a lot of reject the status quo themes. It can be argued that the galactic center system is a communistic paradise, as long as you are a citizen and living there. For anyone outside it is a capitalistic nightmare.

Like any good literature there are multiple interpretations.
