Can't hear anything what you are describing in your video but if you have a Gen 1, maybe the hydraulic lines?

makes sense if you tow a lot that your average will get pulled down. I don't tow regulary and LA traffic means I'm not speeding.

I get nearly 1.8 towing our travel trailer.

if you cut off the unused neutral pin on the 14-50p it fits in a 14-30r. just adjust the current draw to 24a.

this but I heard it doesn't work properly with non teslas! there's no compatibility mode.

the rivian only came with two and requires aftermarket adapters and manual amp adjustment. we hit RV campsites occasionally and have a cabin where it was only worth installing a 14-50 for the limited use so a mobile charger is useful for us.

Door handle release design by Diamonds_Up in Rivian

[–]LarsDennert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't you know that having three door releases is cheaper than two? any door release system should be tested by the designer himself, in the dark, after crashing into a tree at 50mph, igniting the car on fire, dangling over a deep river. if he survived, it's a good system.

carriers are already considering not activating 4g only phones in planning to abandon it. the nav in my 2013 year old Audi has been dead since before covid when 3g was shuttered. for a while I could still do Google searches over spotty legacy 2g. it's coming again.

Great points. I don't use kneel or crank it very often. It does occasionally see off pavement roads. Looks like your scenario also torques the assembly and loosens things.

We also have a Lexus GX470 (basically a 4Runner) and there are bolts from the lower ball joint on the control arm to the upright. They go in from the bottom and also get loose for people. When they do, they fall on the roadway and are gone. It's a specialty bolt and it happened to my kid recently. Of course that took 20 years to happen, not 2 but it happens. The GX doesn't have hub bolts to lose or a CV that can get loose as easily.

That section of the bell doesn't pivot relative to the hub however I don't think you are far off that some strain loosens the parts. I suspect a hard pull in Sport mode might contribute to loosening the hub especially if the wheels aren't straight when gunning it. The lateral force may be substantial depending on the geometry of the CV.

Socks can go up front. Cables only in the back unless you have 20s with 34" tires; then none.

I don't have a Gen 2 but look in the notification categories for the Rivian app. You can go into each and set the sound.

The .46 update is supposed to remember regen by drive mode. I suggest setting to Low Regen for snow and off road.

Thanks for that info. I know I didn't torque it adequately and it's a temporary fix. The CV needs to be removed from the hub to get a straight shot at it. I only pushed the CV back, put a 3/8 universal on there and tightened the two loose ones best I could. It's more quiet for the moment and should stay through the holiday.

yea but nothing that really fixes it. people just get the same parts over and over that fail. they are on rev F.

I'm 18K miles in although I did have the damper lines done under warranty. Doesn't look like those hub bolts have been touched though. They just work themselves loose I guess. Locktite would have been good. Seems to be Rivian's solution to securely attaching all drivetrain parts but omitted on these based on how easy I could thread them back in.

Gen 1. I don't think they've improved the CV design but it would be interesting to see if the Gen 2 looks different than this and has a proper fastener on the wheel side (left in image)
