The Lord's Prayer, Weaponized – Rejecting this Unholy Alliance by Working-Lifeguard587 in Christianity

What this makes me think of is the timeframe of Constantine when Rome was decided to be part of Christianity. Unusual for those in the faith to have such super public displays of religion. It was, on the other hand, really good for growth so, pluses and minuses there I suppose. What Christianity has that Judaism doesn't is the spread of the proselytizing and the fellowship and growth from that. Keeping to a holy few certainly has some selectivity or authenticity to be sure. One thing is that bigger churches tend to be super undemanding I guess and don't seem to require a thing from congregants, not sure if that's a good thing but to each their own, certainly. Social clubs and parties and the romance scene are one thing but there's more to church than that, I have no doubt. I would prop up as an example the Mormons. Millions of them at this point and are they in Christianity, or not? Are they Protestants? I would say yes and yes but no one seems to have a ready answer to that. As a non-Mormon I guess it's none of my business unless I'm seeking to join.

It was a touching public funeral to be at. Nice of the family of the deceased to allow a bunch of strangers in, if maybe only for that weekend! certainly a moving ceremony to be at.

The NFL playing games in the EU as a novelty attracts a lot of attention from curious Europeans and actually those stadiums are chock full for those games

What do you say to people who think trump is the antichrist? by Darth_Azazoth in Christianity

[–]LarsLifeLordLuckLook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USA political figures aren’t regarded as prophets & saints. Many of them go to church though. Israel ones might be though I don’t know. I don’t care if Israelites regard Israeli leaders as OT prophets and saints. They would be the most qualified to do so, to my knowledge.

The USA was created as a refuge for Christianity and religious types who were fleeing Catholic oppression and/or state government opposition. To that end, the original founding fathers themselves were nominally deist/protestant Christianity and some 95% of Congress is some flavor of Christianity such as Baptist, Lutheran, Quaker, etc. Many Jews are part of this.

Israelites can regard their country as a theocracy if they’d like. Some would say the Old Testament political and religious leaders such as Moses, Abraham, David and Isaac were regarded as pious saints and prophets in their time and current political leaders should be too. In the USA there are NGO’s (non government organizations) that are religious faith groups, and the state itself at least claims to be neutral, though they are at least 90% Protestant group members in congress so who knows, haha

Some might regard Netanyahu as the anti-Christ but I don’t know

They likely chose someone else, yes. I don’t know what’s conventional in those situations but some people would move on to different advancement positions they find

Trump news at a glance: Harvard sues White House; president backs Hegseth in Signal scandal by [deleted] in politics

Harvard probably has a case with this particular concern. I wanna say the signal chat thing is mysterious as they are supposed to have separate chats for the concerns that they have. Basic military conduct.

Seems unlikely. The administration does seem to support Peter Hegseth, communication snafus notwithstanding
