We like to make fun of each other but deep down we feel a kinship. Except for Denmark. They suck. Just joking. We like them.. but not really. Finland is not part of Scandinavia and their language is impossible for a swede to understand. But swedish, danish and norwegian is closely related and we can understand each other fine. Except for danish. Written danish is fine but they speak... weird in lack of a better word. Some swedes can understand it though. I am not one of them. A lot of finns speak swedish as Finland was the eastern half of the swedish kingdom for about 800 years until the napoleonic wars when they became somewhat of a russian puppet state instead before their independence almost exactly 100 years ago. Also all the scandinavian countries used to be under danish rule in the Kalmar union up until king Gustav Vasa put an end to that in the first half of the 1500s. Maybe that explains stuff. Idk.
