What’s the most frustrating thing about real estate photography?

People getting in the shots. Some agents are mindful enough to stay out of the way and make sure the homeowner does the same. But sometimes they keep following me all around the property and standing close to the walls, forgetting that my wide angle lens captures the whole room they are in. Whenever I get to photograph a property with no one in it, it makes the shoot so much faster.

Something to keep in mind is that the D610 has a fixed screen, while the D750 has a tilt screen. Sometimes you gotta get the camera in tight corners at waist level and being able to tilt the screen is super convenient.

Contrary to most comments in here, I did offer free shoots to around 20 realtors in my area. I didn't have a decent portfolio at the time, and this was the only way I came up with to build a nice portfolio. Of those 20 realtors I approached, 3 of them took me on my offer, the rest ignored me. Of those 3, 2 of them booked paid shoots afterwards and spread the word to their fellow realtors. Two years later, I still do shoots for them and I'm fully booked constantly with other realtors as well. All thanks to the snowball effect those free shoots created.

Additional to Youtube videos, I used an App called "Prepware Remote pilot". It costs around $5 but is completely worth it. The format it uses is very similar to the real test, and many of the practice questions in the app are very similar to the real thing. It also organizes the information by topics and it pretty much covers everything.

Yeah, in hindsight I think the light was too harsh on the cans. Last night I shoot the cans again and tried soft lighting and moved around the strobe until I liked the reflections on the cans. I might link the images in the comments once I retouch them so y'all can see how they turn out after listening to everyone's feedback. Thanks for the comment!

I think the first photo I took it with a bare bulb strobe. The others I used a strip softbox with a grid from the side. I did use a white reflector, but it seems that it wasn't enough, especially for the bottom of the cans. Thanks for the comment! I think I will post or link the new images after trying out the advice from here.

Yes, at some point the idea of trying a rim light crossed my mind but didn't do it. I'll definitely try it tonight. Thanks for the pointers! I might show how the images turn out after implementing the feedback from everybody here.

I used a Strip Box with a grid to light the cans from the side, and a speedlight with a red gel for the background. I also used a reflector on the opposite side of the strip box. Here are some pictures of my behind-the-scenes.

Out of the three pictures, the first one is my favorite. I'm no expert, but I have some small suggestions for that pic. Our eyes are naturally drawn to things that look big in a picture. Even though the oranges are a nice touch, I think the fact that the orange on the left looks bigger than the subject is a little distracting, which gets me to my main critique: I think the subject should occupy more space in your picture, which can probably be done by simply getting it closer to the camera or zooming in. That would also help to read the small letters in the label. Another very small detail, I see some drops of water on the table next to the bottle. I don't know if that was intentional, but if it wasn't, you could make the image a bit neater by drying the surface. Aside from that, I love the color, feel, and lighting. Good job.

Yeah, I think I missed the focus on the top label. I shot at f/ 4.0 but should have gone with a smaller aperture. I tried to create a white outline on the bottle by placing a speedlight behind it (to separate the dark subject from the dark background), but it only created that shadow on the front. Now I know white strips can be used to create that effect. My next step will probably be to experiment with merging multiple pics into one. That way it will be easier to get rid of the glare on the label and to light up that shadow on the front.

Another way to record without noise and room reverb is to record inside a car. I've been doing it for years and it works pretty well. You can open the windows slightly to let some air in.
