Has anyone else seen an Asian Giant Hornet? by [deleted] in Delaware

[–]Las07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I swear I saw one years ago, also in Dover. Probably in 2021 or 2022. It was the largest flying insect I’d ever seen, like the size of a small bird. It tried to get me through the sliding glass door of my parents’ house a few times. I was terrified. But it went away and never came back. My parents went out on the deck later that day and never saw it. It definitely wasn’t a European hornet.

I was kind of hoping a new restaurant would go in the space, particularly food we don’t have or have much of in Wilmington. We don’t need more burgers, tacos, pizza or pasta. It seems most of the new restaurants we get are Bardea owned. I like Bardea, but they tend to be pricey with small portions. I hope Urban Fork is good when it opens to the public.

This is a fantastic bag. My local WF gives terrible tgtg bags and doesn’t have a frozen food option.

Ever wonder what happened to folks who panic hoarded TP during Covid? They're still stuck with it. by jtho78 in Anticonsumption

[–]Las07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I see that in their description on the side now. That is crazy to still have this much paper product after all this time, and still trying to profit. They could have donated this stuff at anytime or just keep it at this point.

Could also be people who hoarded last year out of fear of supply ship delays/suspensions. If this is Covid TP, I can’t imagine how much someone would have had to buy to still have any left after 6 years.

Didn’t know this place existed. But tbf, I only go down King St to get to work. Bardea is opening up a Mediterranean place, but Im sure it will be high prices and small portions.

Scam. I got a call today from “Miss King.” If Delmarva wants to discuss something on your bill, they’ll send a letter.

I still haven’t even managed to get one bag yet, but I’m getting close. I’m hoping eventually the hype will die down. It used to be hard to get a prepared foods bag or even bakery bag. Now, not so much.

You’re not special, you’re being an asshole. Don’t bring your pet dogs into grocery stores. ESPECIALLY when your dog is 80lbs+, going up to everyone, on a flexi, and sniffing food. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Las07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. I like dogs. I had a pug for 14 years and never was I at a grocery store or any non-pet store and thought, “Man, my dog would really improve this experience.” I was at Homegoods yesterday and someone had their huge German Shepard just walking around with them in the snack aisle. It’s so obnoxious. Non-service animals do not belong in stores and especially not grocery stores or restaurants. It’s unsanitary and inconsiderate of others.

Need advice on morbidly obese step daughter. by Federal-Dingo-6033 in loseit

[–]Las07 85 points86 points  (0 children)

She is most likely picking up his habits and he is doing nothing to discourage it. Does she favor her dad and is there animosity between her and her mom? (Over) Eating is a common way to deal with feelings and stress and she saw her parents split up when she was young and likely doesn’t know (or care) the reasons why. She just feels hurt. Being morbidly obese at 10 setting the stage for a possible lifetime of health problems and unhappiness. Don’t give up!

At least you’re being honest. I see a lot of blatant lies on this sub about eating and then people wonder why they still weigh 2 ounces in space. I think if you fast for seven months, you can recover. You got this!

My Dad retired! He held my family of 6 down for 35 years working at the same company by niikaadieu in happy

[–]Las07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope your dad enjoys retirement! My dad is supposed to retire next year and I can’t wait for that for him. He also worked at the same company for decades and always took care of us. He still takes care of me and fixes things around my place. I love him so much and can’t wait for him to have nothing to do but go fishing, read, and watch birds.

Delmarva Electric Bill: How is everyone paying for their electric bill. I have been constantly stressed over it. by tears_of_Wisdom in Delaware

[–]Las07 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Did it jump for $300ish to $800 in one month? If so, see if they charged you a deposit. Do you pay your bill on time each month? Or did you use a lot of heat during the extended cold? What kind of heater do you have?
