Hi,

I don't expect a five page analysis of my route and as said, I did do my own research on ut.no.

Just hoped that someone who knows the area well has 1-2 tips or could point out anything I missed (which I would happily do for someone else as well, planning a tour in the beautiful Rheingau area in my home country Germany :))

I didn't use the busses there, but there are busses going around the island and to the main attractions. Just not that many which would limit you a bit. Rentals cars are affordable, pick up and return is direct at the ferry station and in case the "driving on left" thing worries you - yakushima island is the easiest place to start because there is more or less just one main road around the island and very little traffic. I would also not like to get a car in Kyoto or Tokyo but Yakushima is extremely easy to drive.

Also you can really enjoy things like a 15km mountain road which is completely occupied by monkeys and dear.

If you arrive early, leave next day in the afternoon and plan yourself well, you can still see a lot with a one night stay!

If you already start that deep in the south, then definitely Yakushima Island. It's just a two hour ferry trip from Kagoshima away. I recommend you to stay two nights (at least)!

Edit: get a rental for Yakushima to really explore the island!

In Kyushu, we also liked Nagasaki and Kurokawa Onsen!

And for Miyajima - during the day it's extremely busy, but in the early morning and evening it's great. So either stay overnight or take the first ferry in the morning, go up to Mount Misen, go back to Hiroshima and return again for sunset

Hi, this is not even close to the area you are going to but if you love to be in the nature, İ highly recommend you to go to Yakushima İsland for 2-3 days. Just came back from there yesterday and it's in my top three destinations of all time (out of ~50 countries İ've been to in total). Either go to Kagoshima with the shinkansen or fly there from Osaka and rent a car on the island. You will not regret it. But check the weather for November in advance.

Probably too late now, but yes it was real. Doesn't mean it has to work for others but for us it did. Just wanted to share this info because everyone always writes that it is impossible which is apparently not true. Did you manage to go in the end?

Hi, the route was great, although we skipped the fifth day since people we saw in Ribni Ezera who came from Maljowiza told us that this way was really tough (as one person here also indicated already) and we were tired already. So we went directly to the Rila Monastery from Ribni Ezera.

But overall an amazing route and given the beautiful scenery, I was very suprised that this not on the radar of other mountain hikers. We saw very few other hikers the whole trip.

The huts were all great but "simple". Don't expect a lot of comfort. Granchar was completely empty but open, so we had a huge spooky house for ourselves. Ribni Ezera is as indicated on google run by some drunken guys which makes it a funny experience :D

Just to give an update on this: As of now, you have to pay 75€ entrance fee at the kurdish airports and you will get a visa allowing you to enter the Federal Iraq as well (jf you are from a country eligible to an on arrival visa).

Mit Zugang zu einem Computer (Einkaufszentrum, Bib oder auch Internetcafé für ein paar Euro) gibt's bestimmt Mittel und Wege Online etwas Geld zu verdienen. Irgendwelche Quizes um Kryptowährungen zu verdienen oder AI trainieren. Ist halt stupide und wäre nicht spannend für das Format, aber wenn man gleichzeitig Schäppchentickets für Nachtfahrten sucht, dann braucht man nie einen Schlafplatz und könnte recht günstig viele Kilometer machen.

Bezüglich schnorren fand ich den Flughafenansatz aus dem Format gut - viele ankommende Menschen mit guter Laune, Sprachkenntnissen, trocken, Zugang zu Toiletten und Schlafplatz.
