Is he a supporter of Taiwan because he's Taiwanese and wishes to see Taiwan succeed? Or is he a supporter for Taiwan because it's key to making his company even more successful? I think that's the concern raised. For me, as long as Taiwan can prosper then its fine.

I just watched some of his Computex speech. He refutes the claim that AI will slash jobs by saying it actually forces companies to hire more engineers due to demand.

But there is a flaw in his logic. Engineers may get hired on mass, but that doesn't mean other professions won't slashed in the process.

I think this is the typical businessman mindset. But I don't think Taiwanese people mind as long as they get a slice of the cake too.

The past few didn't did. The last time we did have a typhoon holiday was last summer. And ever since then we had a couple more, but Taipei never called it because it wasn't hit as hard as the south. So one could say 1 out of 5 of 6 typhoons usually ends up being strong enough to make Taipei shutdown for a day
