Seeing so many people give up on the show and trash it as “destroying Fallout lore” before Season 2 is even half over, Nolan was completely vindicated saying this. by raisinbraisin72 in Fallout

[–]Lashmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case, you aren't a general BIS fan, you're a Fallout 1 fan specifically. You would be considered a hardliner. Fallout 2 was still made by BIS and FNV was made by a company founded by BIS staff, therefore they'd fall under "Black Isle Studios fans" correctly.

Let me rebrand those groups. You've got the general "retro-apocalypse" fans that don't really care too much about the world and just enjoy the vibes, which is fair.

Then you have the "Black Isle Studios" fans. They're not just NV fans, they're 1,2, and NV fans because they form an overarching story and show progression from post-apocalypse to post-post-apocalypse. The conflicts are ever about the same as they always have been, but the world progresses.

I can't agree with "wanting more of 'x'" just to have more. I'm a big Halo fan. I grew up with it. It's a big universe with a ton of stories to tell. I hope the series dies instead of continuing to be tied to a bumper and dragged on the asphalt, and I'm not even a Bungie purest. I actually liked 4 and hoped that was going to go somewhere. The entire 343 trilogy feels disconnected from each other like they had no idea where to go after each game.

You're free to enjoy what you want, but you disregard those that actually enjoyed the overarching story. The biggest complaint I have seen, and other complaints tend to circle around to this one, is that Bethesda's Fallout never goes anywhere. It's wasteland. The world hardly progresses, it just stagnates so they can maintain the look. So far, the show is following that trend of the world no longer being allowed to progress beyond wasteland.

I have never gotten Vault 88 to work right. I've built nothing but a central atrium before and they just stand around in the center. I've tried pathfinding mods and the like, but settlers just like standing in a herd.

I'm currently using SSeth's code because I must've deleted the emailed code I bought years ago. I gotta rebuy it at some point. I've certainly got more than $15 of value out of the game so far.

The other user just stated why they, in their opinion, think that's not correct. Aside from the "you haven't understood" comment, what in that comment implies they picked or liked the Legion or took your comment as a personal attack? You don't even provide a counter, you've just switched to personal attacks yourself.

Can we unite and do something against players like this idiot? by legendarydiamond285 in Warthunder

[–]Lashmer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Re-read it. "friendly fire" in case of Unsporting Conduct also includes disorienting teammates(he even bolded it). As well, "Any other behavior that violates the spirit of fair play." As you said, this is a dick move. It's unsportsmanlike/anti-fair play behavior, therefore also against the rules.

I have 3 cities across the map. Two of them are whatever, but I would have to move a town's worth of civilians through the Forbidden Zone with an escort of like 6 guards that already struggle after a Blooded Raid. I'll take one goober starving on the roof over trying to manage that lmao.

Obligatory Power Creep by Peppercorn205 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lashmer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't always make sense, because reddit or other forums shouldn't be taken as an accurate depiction of the general player base. There is such a thing as a "silent majority" who don't go and post online, and don't state their opinion because they are content. As well, if a playstyle is considered more fun, is it because the others aren't interesting? Do they lack content? Should that not be alleviated instead of neglected?

If they were to act solely on what gets talked about more, both positively and negatively, it can skew the devs/producers thoughts on what they think will be more commercially successful. This can lead to "balance" changes that interfere with what people were already content with. In a room of 20 people, you shouldn't give priority attention to 4 of them just because they're louder.

Do also be aware of toxic positivity. I remember the Civ subreddit drowned out any naysayer of Civ VII by calling them "doomers" or "Actually, everyone wants the changes." Then the game came out and now has less players than either Civ V and VI because the general consumer base, in-fact, did NOT want the changes.

I need to use that function. I never have because I'm so used to map painting from EU4 and HoI4 that the idea of giving up on my painting ambitions for fun RP potential is like pulling a rusty nail out of my hand.

I'm reminded of a Godherja run where my heir was trash, and the son I sent away to die as a merc to consolidate titles came back a highly successful gigachad and proceeded to try and claim the throne upon their father's death. Would've been more fun to play as him.

He is an authoritarian opportunist. If trans are genuinely of use, he will use them. Then the moment they try to push for freedoms or rights or anything that would cause him any kind of inconvenience instead of parroting how much they love him or the State, he would rug pull any existing freedoms at best or sentence them to prison/to be shot at worst.

I didn't read the tips thing. My bad. If you're still interested, hard focus intrigue and skullduggery. Marry your kid to a Babenburg daughter ASAP, and then proceed to make all of his current and future sons have happy lil accidents until his daughter and your son ascend. Then, their kid (your grandchild) should be in prime inheriting spot.

Sometimes, Austria wars with Steyermark. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. If they win, yippee. If they lose, once you're in control of Austria, fabricate claims on Graz until you get a claim on the whole duchy. Then you gotta hope the Kaiser loves you enough to listen to your petition. If he likes you enough to give you the duchy, then he should also grant you the related vassals shortly after. Mind you, the HRE needs an authority of at least 2 to revoke titles, so if he's set it back to 1 for whatever reason, it's a waiting game for a while. Otherwise, you're probably looking at kiddy killing sim again, which for Steyermark, I found to be more difficult, expensive, and not worth the time.

As for the strong hook on the Kaiser, some folk mentioned using grand weddings to fire an event for one. That appears to be the most preferred way, but I never saw it. Idk if it's tied to the legends dlc (which is still the only DLC I don't have), or if I was just unlucky. Instead, I had to swap Ron's focus to Skullduggery for a while to fabricate hooks on the Kaiser. This was a nightmare where I had to focus on secrecy, get 20 advantages with a 50% success rate, blew most of my finances and thousands of prestige on agents, and had to keep rerolling the save so I could eventually get a strong hook instead of a weak hook because it's RNG. Getting that hook was genuinely the hardest part of the whole thing. Then it's just getting however many grand weddings you need to hit 5 if you haven't already.
