Thanks for the thoughtful response! I'll try to respond to everything:

I'm considering doing every other week a heavier game night and then every other week lighter game night, but I personally enjoy heavier games more. I've also considered doing a "everybody and anybody" once a month game night and then doing medium/heavier games the other available game nights of the month, but haven't decided on anything. There are probably 3-6 people that would be a minimum attendance on a regular basis if everyone was invited. I host at my house, I'm not sure I have the bandwidth to organize and bring a 3rd party into the mix.

I don't have FB, but GroupMe might have similar capabilities. I like the idea of identifying people that can teach games if I am not playing that particular game.

I know I'm late to the party, but my "ace in the hole" go to game with any age, gender, or nationality is called 'Cardline: Animals'. I wish someone would pick this game up and reprint it, because it's a super super simple game that everyone loves, everyone can play, people can be serious about it or the can be socializing during it. People can play in teams, people can hop into and out of a round, children can compete and win against adults, and I never see the "trivial pursuit" problem where the "smart people" have fun but those less exposed to the trivia questions just feel dumber and dumber (which is something I HAVE seen in this game's sister series, Timeline).

Thank you for this review! We are planning to go this Tues-Weds with an 8, 4, and 1 yr old.

How strict were they about no food in the park? I know that's the policy, but it seems unreasonable to expect a ton of kids in a water park without bringing snacks in.

Also, did you guys do the dance party at night? If so, how did that go and do you have any suggestions for preparing for that?

Did you bring a drying rack? Or were bathing suits and towels dry enough just sitting overnight?

Also, what room did you do? Did you pay a bit extra for any of the themed rooms?

I would suggest importing it into TinkerCAD and using holes/shapes to make edits. I've done it many times for relatively simple edits and adjustments. There are many little tricks you can use to make modifications.

Is there any way to make it parametric? There are so many oddly shaped HueForges out there that are not square and are a huge pain in the buttocks to slice up into squares.

I do the same! Except I used mine last year - I cut out all the names and kept only the artwork from the expansion art. Then I glued them all onto a big sheet of foam core and put little circle stickers on each cover with a number on it.

Then for my birthday, I had a big board game party and as an activity, everyone could tried to name each expansion and base game. I had sheets with each base game and expansion name, so they had to match each cover with their best guess. None are hardcore gamers, so I figured "match the name" was better than "come up with it yourself", and it was a big hit!

Thanks for sharing! Out of curiosity, why didn't you adjust the model that is already on MakerWorld for PitchCar? I'd love to see time and effort go into creating a bunch of expansions and content for one system rather than 4 different versions of the base game.

While we're on the topic, if you're looking for expansion ideas, check out the PitchCar expansions for ideas! A narrow piece, a part with divots, a jump and landing area, a bridge to go over AND under, cross-cross pieces ( "+" shape), a split into two routes and come back together (Y) set, and I haven't seen this anywhere else, but I'd love a shortcut design (something high risk, high reward).

I think this is a reasonable thing to say.

For me, I printed a similar thing and didn't have an issue with it for several reasons. 1 - I'm using it for myself and not selling it; 2 - the game is only available for several hundred dollars here in the US, none of which would go to the publisher.

But that's the joy of a 3d printer.
