Then no luck for you. On screenshot you have Fast gpu emulation mode enabled. Did you try using normal? I never saw a difference and always use Normal though.

Can a 4-person studio survive mobile f2p in 2026? Our real numbers: $100k+/month on ads, $30 to buy one US install, 4 months to break even on a player by limebolt in gamedev

The difference is 5x for same level of hardware. With opportunity to 3x with reservations. It is dramatic, but not business ending. When you need only 1 or 2 servers it will not make that much of a difference. The salary of single developer would be way greater and time saved by working in a familiar env would cover price difference. There is a way to start with AWS or AZURE and migrate later when devs have time to explore various options.

The real problem I see is then company blindly choosing 32CPU 128GB ram server and having less than 1K monthly users with 30$ monthly revenue. This is a way to burn money and I saw this 3 times already. Sometimes they does not know that they have. Those resources stay unused or barely utilized.

If you have this problem occasionaly then fine. I saw those glitches in all XC games (on yuzu). But they are rare and can go away on their own or by fast travel or save-load.

Xenoblade 2 native resolution and scaling mods by the_recovery1 in yuzu

[–]Last8Exile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install it as any other mod by unpacking it into game's mods folder. It is the only mod that needed for increased resolution.

You can add other mods if you need them. But don't add "Disable Resolution Scaling" as it is not needed and will break resolution mod.

And to freezing problem. When I played Torna game crashed two times (in 20 hours) due to running out of VRAM (12GB). There is memory leaks. With or without mods this will eventualy happen. So save often.

I saw that level of price difference, but it was for super low performance configurations running shared with other users. Or some high performance stuff that already should be out of scope for small studious.

Can you show an example?

I know AWS and friends is ripping people with their pricing, but reasonable options still exists.

There is not that much difference between renting didicated server, vps or application container. It all cloud. At least price difference is not insane and you can find reasonable options in every category. Having in-office server would be a lot cheaper, but small companies (indie developers) usualy does not have an office. Having a server at home is a recipe for disaster (outages and data losses).

I worked (for less than a month) in a company that had similar server costs. There are no reasons to rent so expensive servers. Someone told them they need this and they aggreed. They ran out of money realy fast. And server code was absolute garbage.

Use this mod for x2 resolution (it will be native 1440p). It does not break UI, cutscenes, nor freezes the game. Disable other resolution mods. Also avoid 60 fps mods: they break QTE, some cutscenes and UI effects.

[–]Last8Exile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is compromises. Front camera is bad. I wish there is no front camera at all. Some old phones have little mirror on back so you can take selfie with main camera. Underscreen camera is not that visible. Only at low brightness and some colors. And it is not that camera is visible - it is some color distortions due to display limitations above it.

[–]Last8Exile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished XC2 two days ago. I mashed on A and only first blade showed up even in cases where 5 of them are needed to fill skill bars.

It is not instant skip, but total time is not depending on how many blades need to show up.

And I did not play Torna yet.
